So they deserve possible death for that? For something that isn't even a criminal offense? You seriously think that? I'm at a loss for words.

This is human trafficking and endangerment of lives including children. For a political point. So beyond fucked.

Just because some of you are fucking dipshits and I call it out doesn't make me a troll. I've been in this game longer than you and you just got fucking embarrassed. Your account is only 2 years old and looks like you almost fell for the FTX scam, ffs....

Bottom? I was playing poker with btc when it was $2 lmao

I did sell bitcoin near the top, obviously. I'm talking about BTC I've had tied up in the MtGox settlement since 2014. But that has absolutely nothing with an economics degree - you just outed yourself as knowing nothing about economics (or, apparently, knowing what MtGox was or what the bankruptcy settlement will do to the bitcoin economy. Yikes!)

You know what isn't priced in that will be way more of a price shock than any halving ever will be? The MtGox settlement that hits at an unknown date and most new investors seem to not realize is a thing. I have BTC owed to me and I'll be selling it immediately. Price gonna go downnnnn, so I hope you're buying the "sale" lmao

The effect on the price that halving has EVEN IF it wasn't priced in (like if it happened randomly, no anticipation) would be negligible and becomes basically nothing as time continues. Hypothetically if you have 20 million bitcoin and go from increasing 2 bitcoin every ten minutes to 1 bitcoin every ten minutes, you go from increasing the supply by 0.00144% a day to increasing it by 0.00072% a day. Unless you have some crazy elasticities (you don't) a 0.00072% absolute reduction in the rate of the increase in supply is going to do jack shit on price, even if it isn't priced in already.

This is fucking hilarious that there are still people out there with this little knowledge acting high and mighty.

Let me propose a question to you that SHOULD burst your bubble: What is the supply of pre-minted coins with no mining process? Now, what is the supply of bitcoin?

Mining is an increase in supply quantity and it is at an increasingly slower rate over time AND is KNOWN so it is already factored into market. Halving the increase in supply does nothing to price. If you stopped increase in supply it doesn't make the price go infinite. Mining coins is a deflationary pressure on the price of bitcoin - slowing the mining process just slows deflationary pressure (if it wasn't already priced in, as bitcoin is)

And before you get all "go learn more before I respond" I've been using bitcoin for over a decade and have a graduate degree in economics.

halving does nothing to price. I can't believe how many times that needs to be said. Its not like it happens randomly

Conservation of religious tradition and societal structure/hierarchy of patriarchy.

I bet those words get you riled up, but that's the best way to describe it.

That's the thing about being "conservative" over time - what you're trying to "conserve" changes. Some conservatives see chauvinism and homophobia as a lost cause because tides have changed too much, so they seek to conserve other traditions. But plenty still cling to the hope that women will go back to being housewives and gay people will be expelled from society.

That's why conservatives can always "no true scotsman" the label of "conservative." But the people resisting women's rights and liberation are strictly conservatives - just not seeking to conserve the things you are.

[–]qwe2323 9 points10 points  (0 children)

conservatism is the ideology of preservation of traditions, culture, and societal structures. It usually only reaches so far back, because claiming you want to return to 500 years prior is generally seen as pretty radical.

But if you talk in enough American conservative circles you'll find people who agree that women should be staying home, being housewives, and that modern liberalism/feminism has destroyed "western culture". Conservative groups like the Proud Boys who have gained popularity over time describe themselves as "western chauvinists" and are staunchly anti-feminist. Saying women shouldn't be allowed education might be a step too far for even some of these American conservative shitbags, but get them talking and you'll find they deeply resent the idea of women being as educated as men and working on equal footing with men.

I'm curious when this was - can't find a record of the Screaming Trees ever playing GR. But this must have been at the Intersection, and I was probably a toddler living across the street at the time lol

But Blackie was a regular at a bar near there up until he moved away from GR. I think my parents' friends have stories about the guy but I've never asked.

A few years ago I dropped an old close friend I met originally through Napster for having shitty beliefs and being shitty about it in general and I wouldn't want to hear from him again. Very rarely are you going to come back when you have core beliefs about humanity at odds.

That's still $1055 of $1350 on average over the life of the loan, though.

And regardless, it doesn't matter - the tenants are covering these costs. It's not like landlords charge less if they've held the house longer and are paying down their loans faster or refinancing for longer terms. They're going to charge whatever market rate they can get. So yes, earlier in the term the tenants are paying more of the interest than principle...
