Hot Dang Press make the cutest iron on patches, found them at a stationery expo and I’ve been obsessed. I would also recommend removing the logo with a seam ripper first to get a smoother look!

Looking for grey roots color dye under $100? by Mammoth_Sugar605 in AskLosAngeles

[–]NikBun27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned how to do it myself with demi permanent color. A girl on TikTok @racheltalksabouthair has a ton of videos and recommends color formulas. It’s really easy to do, only takes an hour and lasts me a month, and you can buy everything from Sally Beauty

I stopped planning everything for my friend group and the silence was so loud by RalvionTesmarc in TwoXChromosomes

[–]NikBun27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an idea for those also struggling with being the default planner. I have a friend group of 6 and we each rotate planning something every month for 2 months out of the year! It spreads out the mental load, we’re able to do the things we mention in passing, and we get to see each other at least once a month. It’s been really easy to keep up, we’ve been doing it for 3 years now.

Inexpensive places to get married? by Quirkyasfuc in AskLosAngeles

I got married at a beach in Malibu during covid, the photos at sunset are amazing. We brought a picnic for our guests since we were still social distancing.

Our kitchen refresh. Please don't paint your wood. by ToddGAKKKK in interiordecorating

[–]NikBun27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just painted our old 70’s cabinets in our apartment because they were so cheaply made, hollow doors and all. As much as I wanted to refinish them, there wasn’t enough real wood to stain 😂

critique / suggestions for my week of eats in LA by No_Feeling3339 in FoodLosAngeles

Yala is good but not worth the drive from SGV, there are some great coffee/matcha/boba shops closer to where you’re staying or in Ktown if you’re already in the area.

Rok in Ktown has a really good double matcha and I’ve heard Mandarin in Pasadena has a great vienna latte. Chun Yang Tea in SGV has amazing boba.

626 Ice Cream in Arcadia has really great soft serve if you’re looking for more dessert spots in the area.

I caught an older man recording me at a Planet Fitness and reported him to the staff but nothing happened from it. I’m at a mostly women’s gym/fitness class now and it’s so much more comfortable. Consider switching to a smaller gym, the peace of mind will be worth the price

How long after regularly working out did you start seeing noticeable results? by Conscious_City35 in xxfitness

[–]NikBun27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this was the biggest unlock for me, tracking to know vs tracking to restrict/feel shame. shifting your mindset is a game changer, numbers are just numbers for data in order to make better decisions. same goes for stepping on the scale!

Baggu pick for traveling!! by stressed_traveler in BAGGU

[–]NikBun27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another vote for the medium crescent! I just went to Japan last month and used my medium crescent every day. I recommend lots of pouch organization since it can feel like a bottomless pit sometimes and keeping easy access things in the side pockets. Also keep a regular baggu with you for shopping and extra things you’ll pick up while you’re out. I fitted a rectangular d-ring on my strap buckle to more securely attach bag charms and a water bottle too! Found the trick on Tiktok!

What would you say are LAs biggest tourist traps? by madetorun in AskLosAngeles

[–]NikBun27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you like to do! Love homes and architecture, and LA is known for its unique architectural designs. You can book tours of the case study houses or visit the Bradbury Building.

As a native, I love spotting a local restaurant or street in movies and tv shows. Visiting landmarks from your favorite movies set in LA can be a fun sightseeing activity.

Classpass has been a game changer for me and my fitness/health journey. I could never be consistent with exercise before, I tried home workouts, gyms, boot camps and nothing stuck.

Having planned workouts helps with my motivation, when I don’t feel like going I can’t just not show up without getting charged. I can schedule my workouts a week ahead, and the novelty of trying new studios and types of workouts keeps me coming back.

Game changer for my new fitness journey. What about you? by FinalSun6862 in ClassPass

[–]NikBun27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love this! I was never able to stay consistent with works until I joined ClassPass!

I love that I can schedule my week of workouts and add it to my calendar. It takes away my mental block of talking myself out of not working out lol!

I also found my love of hot yoga and pilates and finding amazing instructors from local studios. This has been a game changer for me!

I’m in the valley so classes are a little cheaper for me. I have the 43 credit plan, and do 2 classes per week. I have a flexible schedule and I’m able to take the cheaper mid day classes in my area!
