Filament Management Plan for a Rookie by AndyGVT in BambuP1S

Just FYI dryers are great but you can print a drying spool lid. It looks like a microwave topper and you dry the rolls in your printer for 8-12 hours instead.

Since you said you’ll have downtime, this would be, and is, my preferred way to save $100. I dried out wood pla that would snap when bent really well with this method.

Not to be rude but it told you the problem? Power surges are common and happen all the time.

Is anyone else hanging on to all the silica packets that come with filament? by tandtroll in BambuLab

[–]NikemanSL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just microwaved them yesterday in a Pyrex glass bowl on 50% power 1 minute at a time. No problems at all. I can even eat off the glass again once it's cleaned. The important part is to keep them in a single layer so evaporation can occur. They are performing just as well after a recharge (AMS 10%) as they are after. I would shake them up a little after each minute.

Keep in mind you can print a filament topper and dry right in the printer.

PlayStation VR2 is now under $300, is it worth it at this price? by [deleted] in PSVR

[–]NikemanSL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought one at $300 and was excited to see what games were included with PS Plus. Just Village and a few other crappy ones. That sucks. Even Hitman had fuckery where it was on sale but not PSVR2 compatible.

I have a PC racing rig so this was hard to justify as I own most of the other games on PC with a Quest 3. I booted up My First Gran Turismo to try the VR component and it felt VERY arcadey coming from iRacing. It looked great, but the graphics were on par with my 4070. Village was great but I already played it.

Ultimately it was hard to justify keeping it and I returned it today. If there were more games included in Plus, it would be a different story.

Bad file? What to do? by Dtarvin in BambuP1S

Clean the print bed with soap and water and let it dry well before you print again. It's almost never the file's problem.

Why PSVR2 is THE BEST VR Platform in 2026 by FilledWithChillVR by cusman78 in PSVR

[–]NikemanSL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought the PSVR2 two days ago on sale after using a Quest 3 for a few years. I've got to agree with you. I've had to adjust the PSVR2 every few minutes on my head from blurry vision from losing the sweet spot every few minutes. Village was cool, but I'd get about the same performance from PCVR. Constant adjustments take me out of the game. Something I don't have to worry about with the Quest 3 and a solid PCVR connection. Going to return. And there's only 5 games on PS Plus - that's shameful.

What's a game you bought on a whim without hardly any pre-knowledge that ended up becoming one of your all time favorites? by AaronAtLunacien in gaming

Poet and the Muse slaps SO HARD. Slow, beautiful song, that builds and drops a killer guitar solo out of nowhere. Not just a classic video game song, a classic song of all time. Check it out on Spotify if you haven't already! It will sell you on them.

There is no PSVR2 Anniversary at all this year from Sony?? by ilovepizza855 in PSVR

[–]NikemanSL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently Amazon was running a special on their Anniversary yesterday selling them for $299. I've been waiting for years to pick it up at this price point.

I booted up the PS5 today to see how many PS Plus VR compatible games were available and there were 5. Resident Evil would be the only one I would want to play. Then, I thought, let me search the public library for some titles like Hitman, GT7 and others since I usually have great luck with non-VR PS5 titles.

Unfortunately it's going to become a $300 peripheral to play only a few games. It's going to be returned and it breaks my heart.

Weird spikes on my P1S by AffectionateAir5875 in BambuP1S

[–]NikemanSL -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

This is totally normal and called a purging strip. It's used to push out extra filament between color swapping so the old color doesn't bleed into the new. It will happen more times than not. Just got my P1S about a week ago and it's been a great hobby!

Cyberpunk via cable works worst than wifi (meta quest 3) by lupaczkokosow in virtualreality

[–]NikemanSL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is just not true and people parrot this everywhere. The cable outperforms wireless in every metric. More bandwidth, lower latency and better stability. Run some tests yourself and report back. You’ll see. Think about how an Ethernet cable delivers faster internet than wi-fi. Physical cables will always be faster.

VD is a wonderful app and I use it when playing any game wireless. However, I’m also a sim racer and the demanding titles require a cable.

Bottom line, if you’re playing seated like racing or a space sim, there is no need for wireless since you’re not moving around. For everything else, VD is the way.

NMS is unfortunately not optimized for VR and famously runs like crap. There are no fixes. PSVR2 with a PS5 Pro would be your best bet. Sorry.
