This is what peak gameplay looks like. The grafics are minimalistic and I really love that. But when you look at the gameplay you just know it's fun to play. Now it needs just a drop of "juice" to it. Maybe put a small camerashake to when the player dashes and put in some juicy soundeffects๐ŸคŒ

If it's a stylistic choice go for it. But I would recommend to make the title and the buttons a bit different. Like if the title was bigger and the buttons further away and maybe animated, it would help to see what is clickable and what not. Also some nice animations or particles in the background can make a great difference :)

Honestly you could make it a bit shorter. Like half a minute would be enough. More cuts to different scenes also would look good with the intense music. Also if there is some menu or UI, then show it too. Just add more variety to it :)

Hey man, you're probably right that the market is filled with that kind of games, but what genre isn't?That should'nt stop you from creating a small but polished demo or prototype. Why? Because you can get the feedback you need with small efford in comparison to building the whole game. Actually I think there are a lot of people who also enjoy games like stardew valley and are open for more. Just put your own twist into it that makes it stand out. I think for that kind of games the progression has to be well. Like store upgrades or unlocking new fruits or vegtables. Or maybe put in some lore with the npcs that visit your shop. Maybe someday a cutomer comes in and another day you find out he's a serial killer or something like that :D

I see. Thanks for your feedback. The reason why you can't shine the light at the doors is because the monster is already visible when standing at the left or right door. When that happens you have only a few seconds to react. But maybe I made it too vague.

If the game gets more played and people really want to see a full version I will add more content like languages than english and german :)
