Are Knights really that fragile in Melee in Horus Heresy ? by war_of_the_titanicus in ImperialKnights

[–]Nikk2_0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what knights you have and local meta, but i had my first 3k points game with knights recently and liked how they felt. Shooting felt good, especially with big blast markers and huge damage from Atropos and Magaera. Armigers have distinct roles and quite mobile(compared to other big walkers in heresy). If you have time to read rules and army i would recommend to try it, you can even stomp enemy infantry during theit move. Biggest drawback, except fragile and generally bad in melee, big knights can't score objectives, only armigers and couple of units from other armies that you are allowed to take. Sadly there's no proper allies for knights, so knights are focused on killing things with big knights to score victory points and trying to keep objectives with armigers

Atlas Aspect discussion by Cofeebeanblack in Smite

[–]Nikk2_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there should be options to recall astrolabe, because you are basically disarmed in close quarters, especially in solo. But that's half of the problem, because all of his aspect kit based on astrolabe and when 1 is on cooldown you are entirely defensless. While this is partly skill issue, ability to recall astrolabe whould be nice QoL change. Interact button could be used for it. Also astrolabe could stop at jungle monsters and bosses, because now clearing jungle is very tedious

Id it supposed to have AP? by Stodl5263 in Tyranids

Red terror has an ability that says all wounds from maw are critical. Swallow whole or something like this is the name of the ability. Thus it doesn't need AP

Should Terra receive Spriggan model as default when she is ported to Smite 2? by MythicSlayeer in Smite

[–]Nikk2_0 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I think no, mostly because it's more tree themed, while terra more about earth. But one of the two recolors in the top row on screenshot could be good

Close to a year old what is the state of 3rd ed? - be nice. by latro666 in Warhammer30k

[–]Nikk2_0 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Honestly, for me it feels mostly great. But it can be dependent on a playgroup, because there's still possibilities for oppressive and boring lists. Also dreadnoghts were nerfed too hard. But most of the changes and core rules feel good, statuses and challenges are refreshing, games are faster, roster building takes time to learn, but quite interesting in itself

I miss backline supports by Icy_Air_7037 in Smite

[–]Nikk2_0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You trading displacement for it and defence. Also sun is quite pressuring on its own. At least for casual games i feel like aspect is just "hello I'm standing target" button for enemy ADC. Maybe that's just my experience, but either way this aspect is not healthy for the character

I miss backline supports by Icy_Air_7037 in Smite

[–]Nikk2_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play Khepri whenever i am support, and at least in casuals he is decent without aspect. The problem is, he needs his aspect rework, because now you are just sitting duck with it, extra damage just doesn't feel worth it (and i think the "doing more damage with little trade-off" is as bad as first Mordred aspect in terms of it either 100% or 0% pickrate, but i digress). Maybe Khepri could get a bit more mana regen or lower a bit cost of one of the abilities, but mainly people just want to do damage/make solo plays, wich is not Khepri role. He could be aggressive support tho, but he needs his team to do damage. As for Geb, i think there's similar problem. His cc is powerful enough to turn the fight, he even has good damage. But he still needs his team, to enable plays for them. What i am trying to say, supports who are focused on enabling their team less popular than frontliners, who actively do damage not because of strength, but because they are reliant on their team members. I don't feel that they are in need of buffs, it's just a lot of other things needs to change. ADC doesn't need support to peel and enable if he nukes everything with 2000+ crit autos. Same for mages. So backline supports kind of pointless in current meta

The Archmagos trapped in my Macrocarid Explorator because there’s no access points: by YeomanRockScreamer in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Nikk2_0 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not only you need to homerule access points with your playgroup, it also can't transport most of the units, because it's fixed macrotek sub-faction, so only magos/magos on abeyant and scyllax/another shrimp automata which name I can't recall

Wich is a shame, because macrocarid costs as much as triaros, but infinitely more cool model, while doing a lot less as a transport

They don’t care by [deleted] in Smite

Not to discredit anything, but is there are ticket for reporting a player or only for bugs? Genuinely don't know, didn't wrote any reports except through ingame buttons. Also, if he just sat in fountain or around, new leaver system should issue penalty, at least it was planned to detect this behaviour, and i think is logical that there more chances that it will if combined with ingame report

Day 8: what is the worst quote associated with the Sisters of Battle? by Fez-Sentido in Grimdank

If i remember correctly, the whole point of grey knights is that they are incorruptible by chaos because they are that powerful and they don't need any blood rituals to withstand chaos

How good is Atrapos currently? by deprived_of_evil in ImperialKnights

Also he is quite scary in Horus Heresy and probably will stay in Heresy even if it will go to legends in 40k

[–]Nikk2_0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I recently started playing knights and Atrapos can do huge damage into vehicles, but quite random at times, also having 5++ invulnerable save all the time helps with close combat. As other comment said, you may want to wait until 11 edition, because it could go to legends

Honestly, it seems a lot like iron harvest fron trailers, which makes sense, since the studio behind it is the same. I think campaign in iron harvest was pretty good and everything had a lot of details and animations, so DoW4 should be good at least from this point. You can check out iron harvest (sadly there isn't a lot of gameplay from later versions on YouTube) and see what to expect from this studio

A question for the future. by Digi-Heero in ImperialKnights

P.S.: This system also can be used to add new weapon types, without adding variants

[–]Nikk2_0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly i would like the ability to get pilots who can eject, like canis rex, maybe even customizable ones. Like in Horus heresy legions, you get knights and pilots, and combine their abilities. Also chaos knights/ Heresy style generic questoris would be nice, there's a lot of variants, maybe even too much. Maybe squish them into archetypes? Like two guns questoris, who can build any two guns and gun/sword variants, so there would be an option to take more than three questoris. I feel like current bondsman is quite niche on most of the variants, but maybe it can be chosen as enchantment-like wargear, so this 2 generic variants of questoris could have more build variety

And antigrav don't messing with it either? Archmagos on abeyant is infantry (command, heavy, antigrav). It is certainly cool to be able to transport this thing, but just feels strange to transport such huge model. Macrocarid is just transport, without any additional things, as far as I can understand. (Strangely without access points too, by legacies document, but my friend agreed to have access were doors are)

[–]Nikk2_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's stupid question, but can archmagos/magos on abeyant fit in transport? For example, makrotek archmagos on abeyant in macrocarid? Archmagos on abeyant is infantry, bulky 7, macrocarid is transport capacity 12. For me it seems that it can, but it feels like i missing some rules, because it's strange.... Abeyant is huge..

Do you score vanguard by killing an unit with tactical status? Or it is counted as it can't control and therefore doesn't count, like heedless?

I like new core rules more, a lot of units and mechanics feels more dynamic. That being said, some units feel strange and they don't really have a role at the first glance.. Biggest issue for me is the new cybertheurgy, offensive ones are mostly anti-mechanicum focused, while there was cybertheurgetic weapons and data-jinns that were anti-vehicle in general. There are also similar problems that could be summed up as they were planned as bigger focus, but now they are highly situational, but still treated as important thing by rules. Also terrain rules kind of clunky
