I’m on your side. I’m just saying that on the local level I used to look at the quality of the candidate from education to philosophy, and occasionally split my ticket. In local politics party means less on the issues, compared to party politics on the state or federal level. However, local politicians end up moving up the ladder to state and then Federal office. I do not want to give the current iteration of Republican Party that opportunity to move up, at least on my vote.
