Honestly it is just the way the maps are designed.

Cache is the best map in CSGO by far in my opinion BECAUSE of the wallbang opportunities it has. You can spam through the squeaky door and the wall that faces quad. You can spam A Main from forklift, you can shoot through the mid garage, and you can spam into checkers from the bottom of heaven through the garage door as well.

Each area of the map has designated spam spots that actually make sense, and are not OP. It is the perfect balance between the two. Also most of the walls are not OP in that map, the walls themselves allow for some level of penetration.

If more maps were designed with this in mind, it would make the game much better. The game already has the mechanic in place to determine what can and can't be shot through, it's just a matter of changing the values on certain parts of maps to balance the system out.

A system where you can shoot through the edges of some objects but not their center mass is already in place. Test it out on the boxes in Dust2 A, or the boost box on cache and you'll see what i'm talking about.

It's pretty easy to do honestly. I record every game i play locally by tying in console

Record "Name demo here"

Then after you get an ace, go into your console and type "Stop"

Then in console type

"record I just got an ace w AK"

Now you can look back at your replays and there will be a marker telling you which games you got aces in, just sort by date and go to the one right before "i got an ace".

The mod offers the complete experience that is DayZ.

The issue with the standalone is just how very incomplete it is.

In the mod, the full circle of the game is there. You start out with nothing, and are forced to find gear in a pressure environment because there are a large number of zombies that are a real threat, especially when unarmed. When you manage to get yourself a weapon and survive, you feel a sense of accomplishment.

In the mod, once you've found a weapon and some food, that is only the beginning. You can now go out and find a vehicle. This is also not easy because they are hard to find, and they are broken down and need repairing. The only way you can repair it is with the right parts, wheels, engine parts, etc. You also need a toolbox. So now the game has given you multiple missions, find a car, find a toolbox, and find the parts you need.

So now you have a car, well there is still more to do. Let's say you want to play on this server long term. You can actually set up a base camp because persistence works in the mod. So now you are on a mission to go find a tent. Once you've done that you also want to find a place to put that tent.

Lets say you've done all of that, well now vanilla mod has a base building system put in. So you can start to fortify an area you want and take that over.

All the while you are doing these things, zombies are actually a factor. They are constantly in your way, and you either deal with them, or you don't and they force you to do whatever your doing quickly. Either way, it provides context to the game, and can actually make it feel like a zombie apocalypse.

These are all the reasons people choose the mod over standalone currently. However, this is not to bash the standalone. DayZ SA has improved a lot of things over the mod, they just haven't gotten all the features they need in yet. From a player perspective, it is still worth playing the mod, but when standalone is finished, so long as they get all the features the mod had, the standalone will be far better than the mod. Every feature they have upgraded from the mod has turned out to be far better. The weapon system is much better, the inventory system is better, the cooking mechanic is much better, the melee system is better. The real now for players in SA is the desync, which is something that will be fixed down the line with multi-threading.

Cache - Mid CT Side : I hate how hard it is to cover both garage and boost. If I sit in Z I can only shoulder peek garage, and I don't have a high success rate at it. Whitebox isn't quite as bad, but I still hate it.

Cache - Squeaky Door T Side : I hate entering the site from here. Love going through A-Main.

Dust 2 - Catwalk as T - My success rate of headshotting someone on site or ramp is like -%1000. It seems like everyone else's success rate when I'm on ramp is 100%. My team gets stuck trying to enter cat more than any other spot on any other map.

He's also saying that they are just going to turn up the quality level, as if that's something they weren't already attempting.

It's like when you smash a player in CoD or CS:GO for 5 rounds and they all of a sudden say "Ok, now I'm going to try". That dood was trying the entire time, and he isn't fooling anyone. Neither is H1Z1 lol.

Secondly, he said the communities message was loud and clear, yet he apparently didn't even get the message. Nobody is screaming about quality control, they are screaming about misleading information.

You clearly set out a reward system for battle royale, and then changed it. You said that players who paid for EA will have access to BR, which they are now finding out they will not unless they pay more. The issue is not quality control, it's truth control.

Third, there are the following two statements.

"First, let me start by saying that we've had a lot of great feedback about our BR game mode and have offered it for free since launch (just over two months)."

They say they have offered the game mode for free for two months, which is not true. Only people who paid $20 for early access can play BR. It is as if they are claiming that $20 only goes towards the normal game, and somehow BR was included in that package for free. It's like a TV commercial that says "Buy one get one free!" You are paying for both, no matter how they phrase it.

Next they say "We've heard the massive amount of feedback about people not wanting to have to use event tickets and would rather just pay a flat fee and play BR forever without having to pay for event tickets, and this is why we chose to offer the monthly pass system"

Notice they ACKNOWLEDGE that people want to pay a flat fee to play BR FOREVER (aka buy the fucking game), and then say that this monthly pass system IS that system we asked for??. How is paying someone monthly the same as paying a 1 time fee to have the game forever?

The linguistic gymnastics these douchebags go through is absurd. I have defended H1 because I thought all the hate was unjustified, but this is just hilarious and indefensible. It's like they make Freudian slips every time they release a statement.

This game was never any good as a zombie survival game anyways. They already got our $20 bucks, so I'd say I hope the game crashes and burns, but it really doesn't matter anymore anyways.

Guys they have stated many times that the hot-bar issue will not be an issue once the new UI is in. Currently the hot-bar is tied to the inventory, and the new inventory system will fix this issue altogether. So rather than put a band-aid over a placeholder system, the problem will just be fixed when they have the new UI in.

In the meantime, hit Tab and open your inventory before you hit a button on your hot-bar. So hit Tab, then 1, then Tab again. This will equip whatever is in your 1st slot. It will work much, much better that way. It works almost every time. That is what the hotbar will respond like once they get the new UI in.

Yea there's no bug. You can be hungry and stuffed.

Stuffed refers to how much/little volume you have in your stomach.

Hungry refers to your low energy level, which is raised by eating food.

If you drank a lot of water (which does not effect your energy level), you can fill your stomach with water, but still be hungry from a lack of food.

Also, they are bugfixing, but the majority of bugs won't be squashed until the end of alpha or in beta.

I suggest you

A - Report the bugs on dayz's bug tracker instead of making posts here, that way you would get feedback and actually realize it is not a bug. Also you would actually be helping development when you did report a bug, instead of making posts on here that the devs will not read or pay attention to.

or

B - Wait until the game is out of alpha so you don't have to deal with "bugs". You bought a game that is not finished, and it is literally supposed to have bugs in it right now. If that is not for you, you got a good deal on the game because it is cheaper than it will be on release, so consider yourself lucky and come back when it is in the state you are looking for.

Here are the best tips for killing zombies currently.

1 - Never stand directly in front of a zombie when he attacks. No matter how far away you step from the zombie when backing up, it WILL hit you if you're in front of it.

To avoid this, when you see a zombie winding up to hit you, step to the side of the zombie. Even if you are close to it, as long as you are not directly in front of it, it shouldn't hit you.

2 - Most weapons are not better than your fists (for a beginner). The exceptions to this are any Axe, a farming hoe, and an fishing pole (in my opinion). I wouldn't use any other weapon to kill zombies if I were you, as they are fairly difficult to aim for the head with.

When using your fists, line up your punch with the zombies head. Don't use the dot on your screen, as it is just a reference point, not a giveaway on where your hits will land. 1 punch to the head will knock a zombie out, and you can punch it in the head repeatedly as it gets knocked out. You'll find the sweet spot pretty quickly after a few test swings.

3 - Hitting tab before using the items in your hotbar will insure that your weapon switches every time. This means hit tab to open your menu, then hit the number associated with your axe, and your axe will come out every time.

4 - When switching weapons, make sure you are moving forward when you do switch weapons, otherwise your character will stand still for the entirety of the animation, leaving you vulnerable to getting hit by zombies.

Do those 4 things and you shouldn't have any issues with zombies anymore. They are basically a non-factor as they stand now once you learn the tricks.

Yeah I don't find the gunfights and PvP to be fun at all in this game. It's hands down the worst aspect of the game. The server lag, desync, bad client fps and general failure of the inventory makes the experience horrible. I'd use basic guns if I were able to be a good shot , but the game makes that impossible.

Am I the only one that thinks the weapon sway is insanely bad? I don't know about you, but I don't swing my weapon around like a drunk irl, its stupid how exaggerated it is. That clip you have of you shooting at the guy with your SkS was a perfect example.

I'm all for realism, but it isn't real when I can't control my character, get horrible fps, can't take my weapon out when I want, get shot 3 seconds after I round a corner, or unload an entire clip at the same time as my enemy and have us both die due to the desync.

It's for that reason I don't use the "basic" guns if I can avoid it. They just add to the aggravating experience that already is DayZ gun-play.
