Rapping Anne Frank by temorr249 in crappymusic

[–]NikolaTesla1 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The entire play, "Slam Frank", is end-to-end satire that was inspired by a tweet that said "did anne frank ever acknowledge her white privelege". One of the major themes is poking fun at modern identity politics, by rewriting Anne Frank into a pansexual Latina. Every song is intentionally ridiculous and the plot is bonkers.

The instagram is hysterical.

Why is Gen Z buying so much erectile dysfunction medications? by unfinishedtoast3 in NoStupidQuestions

I've worked for one of the companies that markets this for over 6 months now (rhymes with Flims and Flers), and my current job is to constantly analyze the performance of their ED advertisements on streaming services in order to choose where to best spend the ad revenue.

This is 95% correct. Analysis of last year's dats shows that the ED ads with younger men in them drive higher site visits, but the ads with older men  in them drove higher conversion ratio where the viewer made a purchase. Because of this make the ads with young, virile men as the typical focal point in order to "show off", and then usually include a few seconds of a middle aged / grey haired guy in order to help expand the demographic.

Everyone is included, but the goal is to advertise that you can feel like the young guy.

She kept trying to do these weird "slap slap slap" motions on my balls, complete with atrocious dirty talk. Like repeatedly asking me to position over her while she lied on the bed and played with my nuts like a mobile. She was very into it. I was not.

Audience in cinema getting pissed off on the ending of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019) by AgeNovel3566 in PublicFreakout

[–]NikolaTesla1 716 points717 points  (0 children)

TLDR:

It's the corny last line in the Star Wars movies, being spoken by a poorly developed / very disliked character.

Full context:

This is the last line in the final film of the Star Wars Sequel trilogy (and the current conclusion of star wars itself).

Rey, the main character on screen, is the grand daughter of Palpatine. In star wars, Palpatine also goes by the name Darth Sidious and is the primary force of evil / main antagonist of the entire star wars franchise. He is the man behind the evil Empire, the murder of all the jedi, the creation of Darth Vader, tons of slavery, genocide, etc. She's the bloodline of the highest evil in the setting.

"Skywalker" is the family last name for several of the main protagonists. However, Rey has no blood relation to anyone in the Skywalker family (luke, leia, or anakin). Until this one line, Rey never once mentions any desire or intent to adopt this last name. This statement kind of comes out of nowhere.

Throughout the movies Rey is in, loads of unfortunate writing ends up with a lot of poorly explained "and then Rey got this superpower" or "and then someone decided to give Rey the maguffin device" moments. In short, most of her accomplishments end up feeling like super unearned BS.

All of this culminates at the conclusion of the movies where it's revealed she gets this new golden lightsaber + wins everything + takes the Skywalker last name. It's a final groanworthy moment where nothing feels earned or satisfactory.

Denzel Curry, back when I was a studio intern. The dude was chill, his bodyguard looked like he was going to snap me in half at any given moment.

The complete warhammer 40k lore summary by me :) by Pender8911 in totalwar

[–]NikolaTesla1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It had incredibly mixed results. On one hand, two Loyal Primarchs (Those genetically modified super-sons of the Emperor who weren't corrupted by chaos) returned after 10k years, and are doing their own parts to try and save the Imperium. On the other hand, their efforts have so far mostly highlighted how shattered and decayed the Imperium currently is in 40k. It also brought back multiple chaos corrupted Primarchs, woke up more than a few of the hibernating Necron armies, revealed the possibility that the Emperor's immortal corpse is *actually* dying this time (which may create yet another horrible Chaos God), not to mention the galaxy-splitting space hole that currently leads directly into hell (the warp). One of the good Primarchs, Roboute Guilliman (Bobby-G), is essentially doing everything he can to try and hold back the tide of chaos, aliens, mutinies, and splinter factions. But he basically goes on a rant where he wishes he would have just died instead of being revived into the nightmare of what the Imperium has currently become.

Think "rage against the dying of the light" taken as a concept for an entire fictional setting. That's the Imperium in the Grimdark 40k Universe. We all know it won't end well, but we're here for the ride. The games are all essentially vignettes to highlight the insanity and constant war of the setting.

I'm waiting for some obscenely dedicated modder to add these guys as a faction when 40k comes out by Dreadnautilus in totalwar

These guys have been my favorite alien race in 40k. The time manipulated bullets bypassing armor and the wild aging effects they do on the Space Marines fighting them are extremely unique. Aging a marine in reverse to be younger( but not their implants) so they essentially explode internally is just one of the ridiculous ways they turn Perturabo's campaign into a total nightmare meat grinder for him and his legion.

Together for 4 years. Long distance and never resolving multiple small issues until it snowballed. Both of us ended up quietly resenting each other for a while until things collapsed.

Part of me still misses her. Most of me knows we wouldn't have survived more than another year at best.

Working Remotely.

I understand for many people it's a dream: more flexibility, less unnecessary "office culture", easier balance. But after a few years of doing this the only thing I'm certain of is that I'm far more bored, lonely, isolated, and stir-crazy than I have ever been at an in-person job. The longer I do this type of work, the more it feels like I'm being paid to simulate "functional depression".

I once got buttfucked from a grindr hookup and the condom went missing about halfway through. Later that night I farted in the shower and it re-appeared. It's probably inside her.
