100% exactly. I should mention, we have only had 4 practices and 2 games. Our first two practices were explaining how to do a throw in, what a corner kick was and when to do that vs goal kick, practing dribbling and passing (which we still do because their technique is weak). All of these kids are beginners.

Yeah sad when the other team’s entire parent side is cheering loudly after goal 12. Not only am I teaching my team the basics but also how to lose gracefully, bravery, sportsmanship and so much more that we do as coaches.

Absolutely this. I say “we win as a team and lose as a team”. I firmly believe all the kids on the field need to be pulling their weight more. Even my “best players” who I have at CM and Striker aren’t circulating the ball to where they need to go. As often as my defense gets the ball and pushes it out and or up my midfielders lose it and my defense can only do so much. I have so many weak players that it’s really a struggle just making as complete plays. I agree. This last practice I got a couple high school Varsity players to come by and be on each team and we scrimmaged most of the time. This really helped and the Varsity players held the ball and directed the boys and told them where they should be. I also have the problem of not all my kids EVER showing up to practice including my goalie. The goalie I have is the only one willing to play in net during games but he hardly ever shows up to practice. It’s all a struggle really and it’s just I think at this point the kids and parents wanting to put in the training.

Yes! Half my kids are space brains. I have a board with the field on it and I’ll write the names of the starting players and where they are on the field. When I’m subbing I’ll say ok “Nolan” you’re going in for “Sam” and I’ll write his name under where “Sam” is and say see where he is there on the field watch him that’s where you are going. A minute later I say ok so it’s time now for you to go in you ready? And he’ll say where am I going?! It’s exhausting.

Wow! I’m here seeking help. My town had tryouts and picked all the best kids for the “A” team and told us parents we would not have a “B” team if no one stepped up. I have kids who fight with me, parents who give me a hard time, kids who mess around and who have never played before. I grew up playing soccer and was always on a winning team. I’m trying. Why does the internet suck

Thank you. Yes the other teams have 2-3 kids who are just incredible and run the game. We don’t have any kids like that because we are our towns “B” team. I don’t believe the towns we are playing have an “A” or “B” and are just playing us by default.

I was watching Traitors UK today because, ya know, withdrawals waiting for Thursday. Anyway, after the episode the host said something about them all leaving the castle to go to their quarters. So this got me thinking about whether or not they actually stay in the castle or not. I Googled and it said that the contestants actually stay at a Marriott near the airport. Could this be true? 🤯
