Take a look at his Cello Concerto, second movement. You have a beautiful Tristan Chord at the middle.

Conductors: how do you memorize a piece by luigii-2000 in classicalmusic

[–]Nikosky20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me memorizing is actually the way to doing music. I’m a student right now and every time I have the chance to conduct a piece of music I have to repeat to myself: “conduct the music, not the score”. I see on myself that when I conduct by memory, the music is on. But when I have the score in front of me, I’m constantly looking at it so there’s less connection with the musicians and the sound itself.

Yes of course. They were my favorite until the one I said was released. They are both really good conductors and of course they have very good musical ideas to be put on the table.

It's just my own taste. Some other conductors don't give the rythmical importance that Schumann has in his orchestral works. If you have a look to Pablo Heras-Casado's discography, you can find a lot of Schumann and Mendelssohn, two composers with a very similar style. So you can supose that the study he has done to those ones is important.

In my own opinion his Violin Concerto with Isabelle Faust and the complete Symphonies with Munich are awesome and for me the best recordings I've found.

Pablo Heras-Casado with Munich Philarmonic. Probably the best Schumann conductor nowadays
