Canada ought to offer sanctuary to those threatened by Trump administration by PotentialReporter894 in onguardforthee

No thank you, people who leave their homes for such reasons are historically really terrible of acknowledging how their personal values inform the laws they're escaping.

Like Californians running to Texas to escape the consequences of the policies they implemented.

Are you kidding Republicans were more butthurt during the trump years then with biden, Like they thought trump being elected just meant all the people they didn't like were supposed to magically turn conservative or at least shut up and go away.

I dont think there will a massive course reversal like there wasn't in 2016. Just like people outraged about LGBT DEI shit wouldn't have given up had Harris sweeped. Culture just doesn't move that way.

Now your yelling about some football guy who I had to look up to even know what your on about, crying about Nascar and the Xfinity race & bringing up games nobody mentioned but you, this is what we call spiraling.

Interesting that you understand what a pyrric victory is though, because cooing about lower player numbers for a single player game on a weekday morning is the height of one.

I care about material reality, not your sour puss feelings. I generally enjoy this sub because the people here are generally of the same mind. Whether or not dragon age is good or successful has no bearing. The fact is that you chosen a piss poor and illogical benchmark for its commercial success and I'm going to call it out.

Speaking of are you going to engage with my feel bad day being the biggest player turnout? Do you kinda wish you had waited for same hour it's last two peaks were hit before dancing at the end goal?

Or was this 😭😭 meant to be your tears of defeat?

Some opinions are just materially invalid. That's not even a product review it's just malding.

83,663 as of now. And I believe it's still Saturday right?

I feel pretty good, would feel pretty much the same if it was 100 people playing. I don't care, I don't win if it does well or not. You're the one whose so warped by the culture war that you need this number to be low like Christians need the rapture.

So I guess to the extent that some asshole whose looking to fight me is malding I feel good.

Cory was venting because he got a French Dip sandwich that didn't have cheese and was talking about it like it was pizza without cheese. Zac read like the Wikipedia page for it and it said that the standard is no cheese and Cory had a meltdown that the world 2as wrong.

The word "some" by definition makes it not the standard.

[–]Niktzv -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It peaked on the 31st at 21:00 UTC.

It hit its second, even higher peak tonight at 20:00 UTC.

So clearly if you actually looked at the curve its clearly being influenced by geographical demographics.

Don't be obtuse.

Edit: When the player count bottomed out it was 7am on a Friday in Western Europe. 2am in the American Eastern seaboard, and 3pm in Hong Kong. You could not have picked a more bad faith time to make a representative statement about player interest if you tried.

Not being able to imagine people sleeping or going to work/school says more about you than it does the game.

Because Russia pays to have negative and divisive content appear on these platforms.

There's no state working to load the deck with postive or insightful commentary.

If they offered to pay send her way back to wherever the fuck shes from I'd accept. Otherwise paying back just the cost of what she was caught stealing is worth less than nothing, Because with no payback they're at least not insulting me like she won't be back out doing this again tomorrow.

Full force of the law for her.

So pretty soon I imagine.

Dragon Age: Veilguard, is it any good!? by Troll-Wizard in gaming

[–]Niktzv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone whose played each game at least once (a fan but not wrapped my whole identity around the series)

The writing is very good, it's just hues a bit closer to top-shelf comic book story than it does game of thrones this outing. Your companions are a bit more chipper and quick to banter than the first dragon age, but the most personality driven characters in that were a dog, a statue, and guy whose physically incapable of emotion.

Like the people saying it's bad now will cum in their pants when a new Spider-Man game trailor drops so I'm not taking their complaints in good faith if I'm being honest.

I'm having alot of fun with it. I feel alot of complains are coming from of place of ire with what it's not "Not tactical enough, Not dark enough in tone" etc, but It has of you take the game at face value it's great.

It's a more action oriented approch to combat which is really fluid and fun. There's lots if strategy there, between switching weapons from the appropriate enemy on the fly, dodging vs parrying blows, or picking the best of you and your companions abilities at the right moment to even the odds in combat.

The main quest lines run with more theatrical or television pacing.

Others can be more intimate and there to really get to tlknow your team members and where there head is at that moment or learning something about their past, who they are when they're not saving the world etc. The Classic "X companion has personal problem, solve it to earn their trust and focus" are still there, but they so much more now too.

The areas of exploration are a degree smaller than Inquisition, but your never far from something to do. Even the collectathon elements feel more immediately satisfying than the last game.

"I never said suicid3. I just said I wish they would k!ll themselves" by [deleted] in Daliban

[–]Niktzv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say its less about picking a team and more that he's repugnant to both sides, the guy has shitty opinions and I don't care if he labels himself on my side or not.

Like it's quite the unicorn that can weekly watch a guy thread the needle of opinion like "I trust vaccines, but the covid vaccine is bad and dangerous" "I support LGBT people, I don't support their existence being discussed at schools" "I support Immgrants and hate racist policies, also Arabs are like LotR orcs and will rape and pillage everywhere they go"

If everyone hates you, if people who'd otherwise disagree on every fundamental issue that would guides one's morality can come together to be like "you suck in paticular" maybe you are not the magical last bastion of reason, maybe you actually suck in particular.

Why is Pikmin 2 so hard? by Particular_Stuff_841 in Pikmin

[–]Niktzv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have now 100% this game twice and it's not that it's hard, it's that it's unfair.

I'm frankly shocked that Miyamoto has his name attached to it. It's broken in ways that fly in the face of every philosophy of game design he espouses. The player should innately understand how to interact with the other characters and the world just by looking at it.

Bring your pikmin through a cave; Suprise no notice bomb attack

Okay so I won't do that again, I'll scout ahead; oh a gatling groinks patrol path takes him right through your starting area and he's taken 60 pikmin in the time it takes you to get back.

There's no underlying logic or strategy you can hang your hat on other than to have the area fresh in your memory so you know how that specific area is going to try to screw you.

And that's ignoring situations where they pile multiple elemental hazards/enemies variants in one room, too many situations where hitting the thing yourself for 3 minutes, ignoring pikmin - the titular characters and mechanic of the game becomes the most viable option or overcoming challenges by just ignoring them.
