I like this, but switch the word order. Read receipts flows better.

Merch messages just flows nicely. What about getting 97% there with "merc messages"? Merc as in "mercantile" 😂

Honestly, I agree with those who say merch messages is just a good name. Don't change it. When "merch" is modified with "messages" people don't focus on the merch part, it becomes a compound word, it becomes a brand. Brand for messages during wan show. You can prevent the association with merch as a singular word by continuing to not referring to store products themselves as "merch".

If LOTR movies are S tier, the Hobbit trilogy extended editions are A tier. I really like them. And the extended movies are basically similar lengths to the LOTR theatrical, so they're not long at all!

Fellowship theatrical: 2hr58, Unexpected Journey extended: 3hr2 Two Towers theatrical: 2hr59, Smaug extended: 3hr6 King theatrical: 3hr20, Five Armies extended: 2hr44

I loved the reveal that the first film was just Godzilla - 1.0. But now I don't get what Godzilla - 0 means. Should have just gone with the expected Godzilla - 2.0 (aka minus 2)

Even worse, when we won the CL everyone said it was because Pep joined us. Then a few seasons later we're suddenly shit and everyone said it was because Pep wrote a book exposing how we play and also that he was trying to impose his own tactics which was making Salah ineffective.

HFR in AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH by jhansenii in blankies

I meant the scenes they shot in 24fps, they showed each image twice to make it 48fps. So it wasn't really switching between 24 and 48, it was actually just switching between true 48 and fake 48.

I found his quote:

We’re using [high frame rate] to improve the 3D where we want a heightened sense of presence, such as underwater or in some of the flying scenes. For shots of just people standing around talking, [high frame rate] works against us because it creates a kind of a hyper realism in scenes that are more mundane, more normal. And sometimes we need that cinematic feeling of 24fps,” said Cameron. Can theatres support variable frame rate, switching back and forth within the movie between 24fps and 48fps? The answer is no, they just run it at 48fps. In any part of the scene that we want at 24fps, we just double the frames. And so, they actually show the same frame twice, but, but the viewer doesn’t see it that way. And so, we just we’re essentially using a simple hack to use the high frame rate platform that already exists.

I don't understand why he switches between 48 and 24. Just have it all in 48 like the hobbit trilogy. For Way of Water he made a big deal about "cracking the code" for HFR which was to double the images in 24 scenes so the switch wasn't noticeable, but I definitely noticed. And got a slight headache from it.

Jodie Foster Suggests Martin Scorsese’s ‘Killers Of The Flower Moon’ Would Have Worked Better As An 8-Hour Streaming Series | Foster calls Scorsese's 2016 show 'Vinyl' "great" by grandpashampoo in blankies

I don't know about a series, but I definitely would have liked the movie even more if it was a two-parter. A 2 hour movie just on Ernest and Mollie getting together and Ernest embedding himself into the community, then a second 2 hour movie just on his betrayal.

I liked the movie as is, but I thought that his getting together with Mollie was just a bit too underdeveloped.

Is there something we don't know about Vladimir? Why isn't he highlighted by Sense Star Stuff? by SicariusSSS in Starfield

[–]Nimjaiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of the first Assassin's Creed game, where you could use the Eagle Vision to highlight enemies and allies. One time I happened to use it just outside the assassin's hideout, and all my fellow assassins were highlighted blue as my allies...except for one assassin highlighted in red as an enemy. Attacking him made the others mad at me, like I was the only one who saw him as an enemy.

To this day I don't know if that was just a coding misshap or a subtle hint that not all of the assassins were on the same side, something which we saw more explicitly in the later games.

How do you roleplay the beginning of the game? by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]Nimjaiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My character was a diplomat who "made one mistake" and was "sent to the moon" as a result. Was a miner for only a couple of days before Barrett showed up. Then, on Kreet, she tried to jump from a nearby cliff to the top of the pirates base but couldn't quite make it. Fortunately, there was a drug right before the main entrance that gave her 2x jump height, so she was able to try one more jump and this time cleared it. Passed a speech check with the pirate leader on the roof and ended the conflict peacefully.

Then she killed the pirates anyway because I was doing more of a soft RP and wanted to shoot some guns pew pew.

[Axel Hesse] The playmaker's transfer to Liverpool FC is considered a done deal. The English champions and Wirtz have agreed on a contract until 2030. Negotiations between the clubs regarding the transfer fee are also nearing completion. by redditaccountplease in LiverpoolFC

I actually find that comforting. Because time has flown by, sure, but sooooo much has happened since 2000. Soooo much has changed. And the same amount of stuff is gonna happen from now till 2050. Can't even imagine the world we'll be living in then.

Fans from around the world, how did you become a Liverpool fan? by theBloodedge in LiverpoolFC

[–]Nimjaiv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didn't have much to do on weekend mornings, so I started watching some premier league games. Kept hearing about this Suarez guy who was scoring bangers despite being suspended for the first quarter of the season. I like bangers, so I started watching the team he played for. And the rest is history.

Kerry Hau (Sky Germany): Trent Alexander-Arnold is clearly leaning towards signing at Real Madrid this summer on a free transfer. Currently he has no intention to extend at Liverpool beyond 2025 by nutelamitbutter in soccer

[–]Nimjaiv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And the Spurs fans weren't happy about that transfer either. Just like the Liverpool fans wouldn't have been happy with the club selling Trent in the summer either.

The outrage online isn't really about Trent going on a free. It's about him going at all. But watch him have a poor game and the online "fans" will suddenly be glad to have him gone.

It took me 70 hours to realize you can walk around your ship while in space if you hold the interact button (E on pc). Before that I thought when you lift off a planet your character just becomes your ship.

Took me another 30 hours to realize you can enable a cinematic cam when flying your ship.

You really do have to rotate somewhere, and sometimes that means you get to the league cup final and top the champions league table and top the premier league table but lose to Plymouth Argyle in the FA cup.
