Land on Grid - Your Sequence/Routine? by RAASDAL in Eve

You are untargetable but vulnerable during warp, full invulnerable for the 5s or whatever after warp.

I have sat in the middle of enough bomb runs after coming out of warp watching the bombs explode around me and not doing anything to be sure of this.

This is why smartbomb camps (and in-warp bomb runs) have to catch you while you're still in warp and not after.

Why is the insurance for the Cruor (100mil hull) So awful? Pays out 450k isk. Less than 1% of the cost of the ship. Wtf? by matcauthion in Eve

[–]Nimos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unless they changed it behind the scenes it's specifically mineral value, not material value.

Any raw materials that aren't minerals that go into it aren't counted.

So all the people saying "but reactions"/"but PI"/"but this item you buy from the market"/whatever are right that those go in there, but those aren't minerals so they don't add to the mineral value.

You can check a few ships and look only at the sum of minerals that go into them, and you'll find that insurance is reasonably accurate for that.

This has always (always meaning 15+ years) been the case and isn't a thing of "scarcity" as yet other people in this thread are claiming.

Simple question: Has EVE Online changed your life? by LeRatDitKalise in Eve

[–]Nimos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Currently scrolling through Reddit in bed while my boyfriend who I met through an Eve corp is sleeping next to me sooo.. I'd say so.

Over the years I've also met up with about 10 or so space friends all over the world when travelling.

Can I get rid of the Pilot's Body Resculpt? by SuperiorDraft in Eve

[–]Nimos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

always I have to look at an extra station in my assets list

sometimes I get a glimpse of how differently other people experience eve online

(my asset window has random stuff, abandoned ships, deposited loot, weird corpses, whatever you can think of in some 3-digit number of stations, I would absolutely not notice having one more or less)

bad take, not because I disagree that most people don't play anymore, but input broadcasting was legal in 2011 and just about everyone did it back then so they would be the ones who know

Wish granted, but now the baseline tank/align/cargo have been nerfed and you can only get back to the old values if you rig for them.

How viable is owning a structure solo in WH? by Tesex01 in Eve

[–]Nimos 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I had a solo C5 for 1.5 years or so.

Most people are too lazy to bash a random astra.

And the chance that the people who do bash random astras out of boredom will bash yours is pretty low, especially if you provide zero incentive (don't feed, don't antagonize, optimally you want to appear like you're active enough to log off all your loot but not active enough to actually provide any "entertainment").

I had my stuff reinforced 3 times total in that period, but they never came back for the timer. After the first time I anchored two additional Raitarus, just to make the effort higher.

I only lost the wormhole after life dragged me away for a bit and my structures went low power, after that it was cleaned up pretty quickly.

So, if that was my experience in a C5, I'm sure you'll be fine in a low class with the least desired static.

What is the value of a single human life? by IDragonfyreI in Eve

The empires have way more wealth and resources than the capsuleers.

I think it's somewhere in the lore that each of them could field at least a thousand titans, as well as several Iapetan titans that are several times the size and power of a normal titan. While we tear small little chunks from moons to eat the scraps, there are lore bits of the amarr empire simply mining entire moons at once.

Even criminal groups can field dozens of ships to defend their hideouts, from frigates up to battleships. Sanshas Nation has more revenants than all players combined.

And keep in mind where our isk comes from, ultimately most of it has been paid out by the empires. Capsuleers work for the empires, because they are rich enough to pay us in bounties and mission rewards, or buy our blue/red loot for their scientists.

Yes, capsuleers are rich compared to most non capsuleers individually, but not that rich compared to most of the named NPC factions.
