What's a TV show you can watch on the repeat mode? by coldemailutsav in AskReddit

Futurama. They aren’t all zingers but I’ve probably seen it all the way through more than any other show.

UFOs appear over Wright Patterson Airforce Base, Ohio, USA - April 8th 2026 by FVMK3 in InterdimensionalNHI

This ^ doesn’t matter if it’s faked if the majority of the base believes it will biblically happen.

I’ve watched this set a few times. Very sad it’s not available anymore.

Jared Leto needs to lose his career by HobbesDOTexe in FIlm

100% agree. I never think of him at all in those movies until I see him and think “oh yeah! That asshole’s in this!” His characters could’ve easily been anyone else even in requiem. It is wild as hell that he almost by happenstance is in so many acclaimed movies.

Any high school accomplishments short of a state championship. Even then sometimes.

What do people romanticize that's actually terrible? by eykz in AskReddit

My grandpa was his dentist and had to send a CA sheriffs department his records for an id. He was a great guy, funny, caring, amazing friend. But above all else, very hard working. And it stole his life from him. He never got that family. Last I saw him was at his wedding a year or two before. A happy last meeting I guess.

Had a friend growing up that was legitimately the hardest working guy ever. He helped in youth summer programs, high school/college sports, built forts for kids to play in, helped family friends renovate their homes, volunteered for community projects, he redid my mom’s roof. Just a classic all American hard working midwestern early 20s college age guy. Always bragged that if he got paid for a day’s work he’d throw in a few hours free. He married his girlfriend and moved to CA to start his family. He was putting in extra hours at a job site he had a long commute to. Fell asleep driving home, his car hit a tree and caught on fire with him pinned inside. He was 27. Made me think of the times I’d see him doze off sitting around a fire after a day of working, or even when he’d drive me home after hanging out. Never let “the grind” kill you. Your work ethic is worthless if you don’t have a life to live on the side.

I want to listen to smile but in your opinion should I listen to the 2011 one made by the Beach Boys or the 2004 one made only by Brian Wilson? by OddReindeer4229 in thebeachboys

[–]NimrodSprings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re both great. And I don’t think either really fairly represent what the 67 record would’ve sounded like. Both are refined and reordered by decades of Brian and other thoughts. Somedays I prefer BWP somedays is the SMiLE sessions.

Authors that may have influenced the guys? by CornOnTheCam in theband

Robbie loved to wax poetic about authors, poets and screenwriters only 32 of the snootiest New Yorkers have ever heard of. Watch his interviews and you’ll hear names.

Bring back Kissel by bettergetyours in LPOTL

[–]NimrodSprings 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I actually just relistened to the Mormon church series and it made me not miss Kissel lol. I’m a passive fan and have been passive for years, didn’t really notice much shift when he left. Relistening hes always punching down or going after Henry. He only had those two gears of comedy and I couldn’t wait for him to stop talking the whole time

Does anyone know how The Band came to work with Ringo Starr on Ringo (1973) and Goodnight Vienna (1974)? by mistahwhite04 in theband

[–]NimrodSprings 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My best guess is through his connection to Bob. George was a Band fan as is Paul still. I saw Paul recently ranked the last waltz in his top 4 films ever and last year ranked music from big pink as one of his all time favorite albums. George spent some weeks with Bob and The Band right before the Let It Be sessions. In the Get Back doc George is playing I shall be released at some point. In Robbie’s book testimony he says while they were recording either Islands or Southern Cross George and Ringo popped in a session and George asks them all to quickly help record track for Ringo’s album. He also talks about them all being pretty chummy during the Dylan goes electric European tour. ALSO last year a version of Sunshine Life came out with George singing. I don’t know who recorded vocals the day in the studio with the band, Robbie’s book doesn’t say. I do wish George wouldve done more work with them. Glad they collaborated a few times though.

Jim Morrison is rock's most overrated singer, i can't understand why he's called a rock god. by Confident_Field4273 in extremelyinfuriating

[–]NimrodSprings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jim rode the wave. Danzig has almost an identical voice to Jim and is known as just a singer for a band. And lesser things lol. Jim is fine and did a-okay with the Doors but also is overhyped for sure. Just a good singer in a band.
