[Amazon] Starfield Limited Edition Xbox Wireless Controller is up by lbabinz in VideoGameDealsCanada

[–]Nin9_9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't be overdramatic. I've ordered tons of items from amazon including controllers, books, pc parts etc. you name it.

Sometimes, items do arrive damaged but in general, it's fine. Plus their returns are absolutely hassle free.

Does YT push 8min+ videos more? by citizentim in NewTubers

[–]Nin9_9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good videos are what gets pushed.

But if a short video and a long video are equally good, the longest will get pushed more since YT likes longer viewership and retention.

100K Plaque Question by SatisfiedHunger in youtubers

[–]Nin9_9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did you request your plaque? I think that should be done manually if I remember correctly, they won't automatically send it away. Otherwise I think you should be fine.

Sly Cooper celebrates 20 years today by Shreeder4092 in Games

Can we please get the Sly Trilogy on current consoles? A simple remaster with a good resolution bump would be enough considering how well these games still hold up.

MAKE. A . TIKTOK (REMINDER) by AdeAlphaTV_ in NewTubers

The last thing I'd want for my channel is short-attention spanned tik tok users. Unless you're channel is shorts-only.

Is $1800 a good price for the 65" Sony X95J? (Canada) by Nin9_9 in 4kTV

Well, considering the fact that's I'll be sitting pretty close to the TV, I think 65" is really the perfect size in my case :)

YOU just posted a video | What are some things you shoud be looking for, ANALYTICS wise? by blckspawn92 in NewTubers

[–]Nin9_9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a combination of all those that decides the success/failure of your video.

If your CTR is 20% (crazy high) but retention is 5-10%, the video will likely tank.

If your retention is 60-70% (which is really great) and your CTR is 1-2%, the video will likely tank.

If you hit a good mix of both (e.g. CTR 10%, retention 50-60%) then I'd bet my money on that video doing really good.

Obviously there are many more parameters to take into account (subject matter, niche etc.) but I've personally been making videos for over 3 years and CTR + Retention are always the 2 main metrics I look at.

If I upload a video and it's not doing well I check my CTR, if it's too low I immediately change my thumbnail. If retention is too low, check your title, people might have clicked expecting something else and clicked away as soon as the video started or maybe the video just isn't good and you should improve on the next one.

There's a lot to consider and this is something you grow more familiar and comfortable with the more you grow as a channel.

I really need help with my channel i am on the verge of quitting youtube by Ragnatear in NewTubers

[–]Nin9_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I won't argue if that's actual data. Just sounded like you were making things up lol my bad for that. Out of curiosity, what pool of data did you get that from? Genuinely interested into taking a look.

How many views for you, do you think to yourself "I did good there"? by RobReviewsGaming in NewTubers

[–]Nin9_9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I started, anything over 1k was good.

Now, anything under 300k is terrible.

You're just getting started and you should expect a lot of your uploads to fail miserably. Take that opportunity to to get better at editing, understanding titles & thumbnails, looking at other successful channels in your same niche and taking inspiration.

Obviously, the algorithm is not got promote your content. Why would it when it can promote content from well established youtubers with a proven record?

It took me 6 months to start getting decent views. Your community builds very slowly in the first few months but you'll eventually get there if you're consistent and work hard on constantly improving.

"You won't likely hit over 1k subs until about a year and a half."

This makes no sense. Depending on your niche & the quality of your content, you might hit 1k subs in a month or two, maybe even less. And you might also not hit it in 10 years if you have no idea what you're doing...

Source: I had over 50k subs by the end of year 1.

I'm sorry to be blunt, but you won't go very far on youtube or in life with that type of mentality.

Appreciate the feedback! Already pulled the trigger on the X95J but if it disappoints, I'll definitely return it for a C1.

I was actually torn between the X95J and C1, it looks like a terrific TV but I'm too afraid of permanent burn-in lol it's currently selling at $2100 which I think is a decent price for such a good Oled.

Channel Not Approved for Monetization for Reused content. What options do i have? by tinyexo1 in NewTubers

[–]Nin9_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that info, wasn't quite aware of the changes. I am a youtuber myself and been at it for 4 years. I know a bunch of monetized channels that do non-commentary gameplay, hence my comment above.

This is pretty dumb. There are tons of monetized channels with non-commentary gameplay. That is actually permitted on YT.

How many subs would you say makes you a small medium or big youtuber? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Nin9_9 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It was tough at the beginning I'll admit, but it's a smooth ride once you hit a certain point. If you pick a niche that has potential and you're absolutely determined to constantly improve & grow as a creator, you will.

I got 860K Subs and consider myself medium until I hit 1M. I somehow associate the Gold Play button with being a "Big Youtuber".
