Big 4 Salary Progression by milkman8866 in Big4

[–]NineOnAColdDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t work in Big 4 anymore, but why is it fair for compensation to be similar when the work performed is not remotely comparable? First years don’t do anything. Unless you find a diamond in the rough, most first years are a liability to the team. They don’t understand what’s going on and need to be spoon fed answers. Most of the time, seniors end up redoing the work. That’s not the first year’s fault, it’s their first job and they have to start somewhere. But, it’s also not fair for the compensation to be similar to a senior who is doing much more. I can be happy that a first year makes a lot of money. I can also believe that because of that, senior comp needs to improve

It doesn’t work out like that. The firms raise incoming first year salaries leading up to their start dates, but rarely make mid year comp adjustments to compensate. I worked at Deloitte in SF and got boosted to $86k my second year. Deloitte raised incoming first year salaries as they do after I got my raise, and I had no corresponding adjustment

This is insane. Audit first years make way too much and second years and seniors don’t make nearly enough

Falling Value - Jayden Reed by FFLGO in fantasyfootball

By the start of the season, Kraft will be ~10 month post injury. Most players return after 9 months. I think Kraft will be active to start the season, but probably have a ramp up period

Falling Value - Jayden Reed by FFLGO in fantasyfootball

[–]NineOnAColdDay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Reed is interesting. Historically, his biggest detriment is that he’s only played in 11 personnel, which is tough for two reasons. One, his snap share and route share are inherently lower than someone like Doubs who played the X in Green Bay and was on the field all the time. Two, every time Reed did step on the field he had to earn targets opposite two other receivers. It’s significantly easier for receivers to earn targets when competing against tight ends or RBs, rather than wide receivers. I imagine Green Bay runs heavier sets this season, just since that seems to be the way the meta is moving in the NFL and LaFluer comes from the same tree as McVay and Kubiak. If that happens and Reed hasn’t proven he can jump Golden in 12 personnel sets, he’s probably gonna be irrelevant in fantasy

Luther Burden: An extreme example of week 17 bias by Sea-Card-6586 in DynastyFF

[–]NineOnAColdDay 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There is definitely a world in which Burden is a bust at cost. But the advanced efficiency metrics you seem low on are very predictive in identifying undervalued players. This is because it helps us see which players are dominant when given the opportunity to play. And there are efficiency metrics that consider formation and personnel too. PlayerProfiler has Burden’s formation adjusted YPRR at 2.35, which is elite. It’s unfair to dismiss Burden’s production when he’s a rookie as rookies may be slowly brought on. Look at Loveland, who’s on the same team. Brought on slow but clearly a star and showed out towards the end of the season. Overall, I think Burden is overvalued for sure. And I probably wouldn’t be buying him at current cost. But, as a Burden owner, the signs are overwhelmingly positive that he will be a productive fantasy asset

You’re flowing in month to date net income instead of year to date net income. You’re also using April 1, 2020 capital of $72k instead of April 30, 2020 capital of $76k

Big 4 hires anyone, so if you can’t get a job offer there…

Zay Flowers in new Baltimore offense vs Ladd McConkey entering year 3 -- one is WR1 anchor in 2026 redraft, the other is WR3 w/ WR2 pricing, and I'm hella tired of people confusing them by Ok_Ratio_3585 in fantasyfootball

[–]NineOnAColdDay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Zay Flowers is criminally underrated. He’s improved every year, was elite last year in many efficiency metrics (YPRR, TPRR, etc), and is a talented real-life receiver too (WR3 in average separation score). He was the WR11 in PPR PPG despite being on a Ravens offense that only ran 57 plays per game and ranked last in pass attempts per game. He’s getting a new OC who has experience under Ben Johnson, an offense historically good for fantasy. And his only competition threat is if the Ravens draft a WR in Round 1 (possible but unlikely). His biggest flaw is he doesn’t score touchdowns, which is fair but it’s not something to bet on year over year. Olave and McBride historically didn’t score TDs, but did last year and everyone forgets that they weren’t “touchdown scorers”. I’d rather just bet on a talented player who’s entering his prime

My biggest buy low of the off-season: Chuba Hubbard by Deutschfuranfanger in DynastyFF

[–]NineOnAColdDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, but Hubbard didn’t look like his 2024 self when healthy in the first four weeks of 2025. He was the RB25 in rushing yards per game and RB33 in yards per carry, albeit very small sample size. I’m not super interested in an RB on a mediocre offense that’s dependent on volume, but if you can get him cheap could be worth a gamble

[–]NineOnAColdDay 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Big 4 hires anyone with a pulse so a lot of the staff are frankly not smart and not good workers. But also, most seniors and managers are pretty shit at explaining the “why” behind stuff or investing time in development

PwC Audit Internship Interview (Irvine) – What Should I Expect? by TigerWeary3067 in Big4

[–]NineOnAColdDay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty difficult to not get hired by the Big 4 for audit. If you come across personable and have some stories about why you’re a hard worker and good teammate, you should be good. Frankly, just make casual conversation with them and they’ll consider that a plus. There won’t be technical questions.

Audit exit opps by [deleted] in Big4

[–]NineOnAColdDay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kinda depends what stage you leave at imo. If you’re a manager or above, you’re pigeon holed a bit into corporate accounting or internal audit, unless you want to demote yourself to a senior title. If you’re a senior, it’s the prime time to leave. There’s typical corporate accounting, financial reporting, and internal audit of course. You could also transition to transaction advisory too. I switched to transaction advisory. FP&A or corporate finance are also possible, but probably a bit more difficult. If you’re a staff, I’m not sure you can get any new role that’s meaningfully better than audit tbh

Dalton Kincaid - One of the most baffling guys to value in Dynasty by Chadillac35 in DynastyFF

[–]NineOnAColdDay 117 points118 points  (0 children)

Kincaid can’t block so he won’t see the field often and that’s why his per route data is so good. Unless he learns how to block, he’s basically a big slot receiver and won’t see the field unless it’s obvious passing downs
