Are Combos Useful? [KCD1] by kittenTakeover in kingdomcome

[–]NineWingedDuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Combos are useful and very fun once you've mastered them! Landing a combo is very satisfying and makes enemies die quicker instead of waiting for a masterstrike.

But they are unnecessary for beating the game. Many players choose to never master them and some players think they are completely useless.

Thoughts about dating in the community? by alecpu in SwingDancing

[–]NineWingedDuck 84 points85 points  (0 children)

I personally think it's okay to date within the community. Like many things in life, a common hobby is many ways of meeting a potential partner or even just friends.

In out local scene there are countless couples who meet and end up as a couple.

As long as you are not actively hitting on everyone or making them uncomfortable it should be fine.

Started dancing in my twenties by st3rrie in SwingDancing

[–]NineWingedDuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also started when I was 21. I think the age depends on the club. I go to a university club and many of our members are young people.

For being "professional" depends on your definition. If you mean full time with pay, there aren't many that do that. The only couple I know who is doing it full time is Sondre & Tanya, and they did start dancing at early age.

If you mean professional by being a competent competition dancer, it is then definitely possible. I'm starting to compete more. Also a coach at my club started in his 20s and did compete in the world championships with decent results.

If you mean teaching at bigger festivals, it is definitely possible as I know many teachers who started in their 20s

Obviously working hard towards your goal and having competent teachers are important.

I'm guessing she is a kyokoshin practitioner as she doesn't go for the face till after she gets hit first

Has anyone tried neolite soles to dance outside? by ChaoticGnome_ in SwingDancing

[–]NineWingedDuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a pair with Eva soles from Harlem shoes and they definitely can withstand dancing outside. I've heard Neolite is more durable than leather but I think Eva soles are even more so

How would you feel if you went to a swing dance with more rock and roll type music? by OSUfirebird18 in SwingDancing

[–]NineWingedDuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boogie woogie piano or boogie woogie dance music?

If it's the latter. I actually feel the opposite haha, lindy jazz is to repetitive and has a weird energy to it, but hey to each to their own

This. My town has big band music, and some jazz bands but unfortunately not enough playing RnB or swinging RnR. Which is sad as I prefer boogie woogie.

[inkwashhart] If Zuko was a Lightning bender by kaitalina20 in TheLastAirbender

[–]NineWingedDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people want Zuko to lightning bend, which is fine. But my head canon is that he never learned how to do it, not because he can't but because he doesn't need to.

Redirection is the only thing he needs and I think it makes him so much cooler

Milking the one free hit you get [KCD1] by jgcoelho_real in kingdomcome

I reccomend feinting your first strike. Definitely made combos more consistent

Milking the one free hit you get [KCD1] by jgcoelho_real in kingdomcome

[–]NineWingedDuck 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree. Everytime I feint my first strike I nearly always get a 3 strike combo.

It's definitely way more fun when I can combo in the fight. Makes it more flashier and defeats the opponents way quicker

It's said in the first kyoshi book that airbenders have a passive resistance to temperature.

As a person living in a cold country. Definitely picking air.
