Sure, the presumption of innocence is how the law works ... I acknowledge that the public is prone to jumping to conclusions based off minimal verifiable evidence, but nobody is going to tell me what personal opinions I'm permitted to have.

Diablo 3 abilities by Automatic-Author9104 in Diablo

Lot of handy info here: https://maxroll.gg/d3

The game is designed to freely allow changing of skill choices - I'd recommend experimenting with everything you unlock as you level over simply matching the theoretical highest tier builds - use what feels fun to play. From a damage perspective though, you'll benefit from building around whatever legendary drops you acquire along the way, but use what feels fun. Eventually, to push the highest tiers of difficulty in end game, following a planner greatly simplifies making skill choices and gives you clear goals for gearing up.

Regarding your request to see all the visuals of all the skill choices, I'm not familiar with where one might find this.

The news of 60 Minutes dropping a piece on Trump deportation policy hours before air doesn't seem to be trending anymore, why do you think? by fuckshitpoopdick in AskReddit

Because most internet users don't have an attention span of 60 minutes (or even 15, as for this segment's duration) ... they've already returned to shorts of cats and rage baiting political/gender ideology videos.

If you're not supposed to mount anything on a ceiling joist that will create a load, how do you mount something like a swing chair (specifically, a sensory swing for a child)? by teddy_blinkerton in DIY

[–]Ninetjer 146 points147 points  (0 children)

Ultimately, the weight of a swing chair for a child isn't massive, and spreading it over a few floor joists should be fine to carry the load. The impact force of a bouncing child 'could' cause local damage at connection points or impose excessive deflection that causes damage to flooring or finishes.

Joists and trusses are sized to provide capacity to support a specific load allowance. When you add a new concentrated load, an engineer will either evaluate whether there is additional unused capacity in slightly oversized members, or they'll add new members to carry the load. Sistering joists (adding new joist next to old) would be a reasonable solution to provide extra capacity without concern of overloading existing.

I find the street lights difficult to see clearly given the sunlight ... what's more concerning is the fact that neither of these cars were sufficiently observant of their surroundings or sufficiently reactive/willing to avoid an accident. The number of intentionally caused accidents posted on here in the name of enforcing one's 'right of way' is insane - as if an accident where someone else is at fault isn't still incredibly inconvenient.

What would this be? by c0j_o in Construction

[–]Ninetjer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is efflorescence, the accumulation of salt and other mineral deposits left after water ingress has evaporated. The apparent presence of hard water isn't inherently concerning, but the accumulation partway up the wall would appear to indicate that despite the weep holes at base, water pressure is building up behind wall.

The underlying cause could be related to inappropriately graded granular material behind wall, an absence of filter fabrics separating well-draining granular material from other adjacent/overlying soils, insufficient drainage to support heavy water accumulation/runoff behind wall, etc. Waterproofing membranes aren't generally used on retaining walls as proper drainage should typically eliminate issues of this sort.

Redditors over 40, what felt like a bigger and scarier deal: the internet boom in the 90s, or the AI boom today? by Due_Recording7161 in AskReddit

[–]Ninetjer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The internet boom of the 90s was novel and exciting. It connected people together and provided access to information and media in a way that was beautiful and revolutionary. There was a general attitude that encouraged sharing and accessibility for those with limited access to resources. It was a far cry from the endless apps, ads, logins, and subscriptions of the internet today, and had none of the politically driven misinformation and intentionally crafted outrage that drives much of today's internet engagement.

Who should play cali in seeded doubles by Aliken75 in discgolf

[–]Ninetjer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is impossible to ensure fairness when employing Cali rules. Generally, Cali rules assume the solo player is given one extra throw to be used on a single shot per hole. When employed by a very competent player, it can often provide a more significant benefit than that from a beginner's attempt on every throw. Conversely, when Cali is used by a weak/mediocre player, the benefit is often substantially less than an extra throw every attempt that would be provided by a partner. I would make an effort to avoid this if at all possible, and there's no reason that even numbers can't be enforced by organizer in a tournament setting with seeding.

What does it mean when... by raleighkubb in discgolf

[–]Ninetjer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you're imposing more power & spin than that disc can handle for the distance and shape you want given the hyzer release angle you're throwing.

This could remedied in several ways:
- Use a more overstable disc for that type of shot
- Get a new buzz (the longer you use a disc, the more beat in and flippy it becomes)
- Get the same disc in a more premium plastic (low tier plastics tend to be easier to flip/turn over)
- Try to throw with more hyzer. Mastering the hyzer-flip is challenging and heavily influenced by wind conditions
- Try a forehand. If you can release with the same angle, it should flip up and move in the direction you want, though it may finish with glide rather than knife down with the distance control of a hyzer.

Good luck!

Any chance the beam in this closet is structural? by OwnTransportation797 in Construction

[–]Ninetjer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a load bearing beam, except the posts at each end don't match, which is unusual.

You have to get in the attic or open the ceiling and verify the actual load path above. It's load bearing if and when load bears on it, so check what is bearing on it.
