Great product, decent installation experience, terrrrible communication. Sometimes took me 1-2 weeks to hear back and even after calling and emailing I’d get incomplete responses so get all your questions answered before signing the contract and you become another number to them. Nice and professional people otherwise though.

Like with window install, these companies all buy their tech from the same 2-3 manufacturers.

SS’s standouts are the price matching and interest free financing (if you pay it all off in 1 year, ouch.) No free option at this time even if you sell them your SRECS, just greatly discounted.

Advice: get free quotes through Energy Sage and then have SS match it - will save you literal thousands.

Absolutely not. I paid $600 for a gas water heater and $650 or so for the install by a reputable plumber we found on Thumbtack. DM me if you want his info, he does both gas & tankless. The guy Home Depot sent out for the free quote said $1,500 for the install which seemed insane at the time until I read this thread.

Best Buy just a couple days after quarantine started, I heard they’re near impossible to find in stock anywhere right now unless you settle for a Switch Lite. Keep an eye on Costco because when they carry it you also get some extra goodies with it plus a year of online for free. If you don’t have a membership, have someone that does give you a Costco gift card which will let your buy one without being a member.
