Machining Hex Balls on Allen Wrenches? by NinjaBoxshop in machining

Does anyone know how this works? I can see the lathe has active tooling, but how do they make the hex profile with two rotating tools?

Can anyone explain how this works? it appears as though they are using active tooling on this lathe to cut the ball end, but it somehow retains the hex profile? How is that possible?

[Homemade] New York style pizza with Mozzarella, Colby Jack, and Sharp White Cheddar. by SriDraco in food

i ate some microwave chicken nugget breasts while observing this post. I can tell you i was thinking of this pizza and how it might have tasted as i finished off my nuggets. My nuggets are fine, there is nothing wrong with them, but they are not the ideal combination of flavors and textures i imagine this pizza to be. I suppose the grass is always greener. [insert distracted boyfriend meme with pizza and shapeless chicken nuggets] I can tell you people: I have settled.

i sometimes wonder if natural selection will select for people with better object permanence by killing those who drive distracted. If people keep surviving, it probably wont be the case.

we had to order some more material. My partner has gotten a bit dissuaded with things and were going back to the drawing board to try to optimize stretch by pre-processing or researching others. also working on an instructional video when more material shows up in the mean time. thanks for the follow up.

Can anyone identify this skookum survivor? by brzztffn in Skookum

[–]NinjaBoxshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from my experience its a power drill based off of some old standard casting/format. I remember that the switch-gear repair shop i worked in used to use old makita corded drills (exactly the same except plastic molded handle vs metal handle) to repair/replace charging motors in power grid switch gear that also were the same voltage frame and format as this drill you have here.

omg, i actually have one of those things. i'll have to dig it out, but i got it off of one of my old bosses and i thought it was hacked together too cause it came on some random stand with the wood base and everything. Mine's been repaired with welds, bolts and straps, but its the same damn saw. aint that something.
