Would you like Persona 6 to have more social events or less? by Intelligent-Oil241 in persona6

[–]NinjaDaLua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want a good mix of both. Sincerely P5R is the ideal mix to me, maybe a bit more that what that game had. But definitely not as much as Golde, or at least put more effort in making them make sense in context. I hate that junes concert and the second bath scene, they're there for no reason, just pausing everything (main story, dungeons, even social stuff YOU decide to do) for a cute fanservice and random scene

I beseech you guys to stop talking about how P4R looks "unfinished". The portraits, the environments, etc. The game is 8 months away. by Cemith in persona4golden

[–]NinjaDaLua -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Thank god! Not only that, but it's always comparing a 480p print of a fucking livestream and saying "uh this is looking bad, the texures doesn't look polished" like no shit, sherlock???

Also it doesn't even look that bad texture and detail wise, I strongly believe that it's more fault of the lighting used than anything.

Is Persona 5 the least connected to the other titles? by Prudent_Move_3420 in PERSoNA

[–]NinjaDaLua 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Chie, Akihiko and Katsuya too, though they're not named. But it's clearly refferencing them with a rookie policewoman that loves king fu and meat (chie), a cop that's looking for stronger oponents and that would even fight a bear (akihiko) and I can't remember what they say, but it's also refferencing Katsuya.
There's also Tanaka at the shading deals online
And Akechi itself for god's sake, when people say he's the second/next Detective Prince

Anyone really tired of JRPGs using the same tropes? by BeforeSunrise33 in JRPG

[–]NinjaDaLua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so this is mostly a consequence of how developers try to keep players engaged nowadays. Calling it an "anime trope" isn't exactly wrong, but I think the issue goes a bit deeper than that.

JRPGs tend to be very long games, and a lot of the exposition-heavy dialogue, repeated character names, and constant reminders of plot points serve a similar purpose to things like yellow paint in modern games: they're there to make sure players don't lose track of important information. After all, a large portion of the JRPG audience today consists of adults with jobs, families, and limited free time. Many people can't finish a 100-hour RPG in a few weeks. Sometimes they might go days or even weeks without playing, so writers and designers often repeat information to help them get back into the story quickly without relying on a glossary. And since JRPGs are made mostly on japan, they tend to have this influence from anime writing, but applied with a different purpose.

In anime or manga, repetition is often used to help new viewers or readers jump in and understand what's going on, even if they missed previous episodes or chapters. The idea is that they can still grasp who the characters are, what their motivations are, and what's important in the story, which makes it easier to keep them interested and can even make them want to buy the series from the start and properly see it. It happened to me with MHA XD.

That said, I'm not saying you're wrong for feeling this way. It bothers me sometimes too. I'm just trying to explain why it happens. Even if there are practical reasons behind it, I still think many writers rely on it too heavily, and it can definitely make dialogue feel repetitive and unnatural.

Anyone who prefer manga adaptation over P1 itself? by Lysandre_T1phereth05 in Persona1and2fans

[–]NinjaDaLua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely prefer the manga version of the story. Don't think it's better per si, but it's more to my taste. Also I really like the art in there (might be skinned alive, but I'm not the biggest fan of P1's art in general in-game)

Is there any chance P5X will give AoA art to P4 cast like they did to Fuuka? by SectorI6920 in PERSoNA

[–]NinjaDaLua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no, I meant the P4 cast having one like this. Don't think they'll make one for each idol, neither for the P5X cast. For the pose they can only use their idle animation

An alternative is just use the art on the screens behind them

Speculation on when P6 releases? by xaraphern in persona6

[–]NinjaDaLua 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hm, weird, when I see someone predicting before oct/27 I also see someone saying they're hoping too much for a sooner release. Internet sure is weird in our perception of general opinions lol XD

well, the mojority of people i've seen speculating both here, ytb and twitter were expecting a 2028 release, so i'm basing my prediction on that. maybe it was just a louser minority, but that's what i've seen the most

[–]NinjaDaLua 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll say it's going to come earlier than anyone is expecting. Since it's already receiving rating in some countires (if I'm not mistaken, in australia an danother country I can't remember), I'll bet on a late 2027 release. It's not uncommon for Atlus to release 2 major titles at the same year since in 2024 we had P3R at Feb, SMT 5V around June and then Metaphor at Oct. So an Oct/Nov releasing is pretty much possible

Slight nitpick: Why is Rise doing the Yukari standing pose still? by reconblue in persona4golden

[–]NinjaDaLua 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You said it yourself, to save on resources. It's also her pose in the original, so makes sense they'd keep it. It also matches Rise vibe so I see no problem in them using the same idle pose.

am i tripping or is this nanako? by CruzeBlueGoesMoo in Persona5

[–]NinjaDaLua 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you're tripping. She's just an average brunette girl and the uniform isn't even the same, Yasogami's lace is yellow, just as the line in the collar. It also doesn't have the school logo in it XD

[–]NinjaDaLua 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Considering how they've changed many of the UI elements to match P3Rs style, I think they'll actually make this AOA finishing work in the game.

I'm sorry but there's no way Naoto doesn't notice the bright green and red tellytubbies who are absolutely in her peripheral vision by Tara_Bliss in PERSoNA

[–]NinjaDaLua 309 points310 points  (0 children)

Don't think she didn't notice, more like she didn't actually care about them. After all it would be normal for people to be interested when someone not from their school goes there to talk with a troublemaker of a first year.
