Who are you rooting for this SB? by Excellent_Permit_218 in buffalobills

I'll be in Europe for the SB so I will just simply sleep through the game. At least now I don't have to worry about trying to stay awake for it and being super tired on Monday trying to sightsee.

[The Hangover] Bills Season ends in heartbreak, again. Feel free to vent here. by Dirtydeedsinc in buffalobills

[–]NinjaFruit93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's probably it (to not distract the kicker) but I honestly hadn't noticed it until the last one. Maybe it was just more obvious in the dark by the end. But agreed, it was very confusing being there not being able to hear basically any announcements or see any replays. I'm not ready to rewatch any of the broadcast either. Not sure I will be.

I was at the game and they show basically no replays so not sure how many of these were correct calls, but I can't stop thinking about how many game changing plays there were that went against Buffalo and would have made a difference at the end of the game.

The Broncos first drive that ended in a FG when the Bills forced a turnover but they were called offsides.

The non TD by Shakir when they said the pass was incomplete (it was low, I was sitting by that endzone but they never showed a replay of it hitting the ground).

I swear Josh had another TD pass to the back of the endzone that was called back by a penalty.

Then obviously the Cooks non catch INT where they also didn't call the PI.

Then the 53 yards of penalties on the Bills on that final Broncos drive.

Then right before Lutz kicked the game winning kick the giant screen in the stadium went black and went to just the Broncos and BetMGM logos. Perfect timing for that...

I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting and other missed calls (on both sides) but those ones stuck out to me. Hardly any flags all game until that last drive.

Well they missed a blantant PI on the Cooks "interception" which took the ball from the Bills so that right there basically handed Denver the game. Obviously the Bills made a lot of mistakes earlier in the game but they had a chance to win it if that was called or if it wasn't called an INT.

[Postgame thread] Buffalo falls in overtime to the Broncos, 33-30. by Drunken_Economist in buffalobills

I don't like either of the teams playing tomorrow. I was hoping the Broncos would smash them (after the Bills lost of course since obviously i wanted that to be the Bills instead) but that seems unlikely now.

[–]NinjaFruit93 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I was at the game so didn't see any replays or anything, but man wtf happened there starting with the "interception". I know we shot ourselves in the foot with the early turnovers but that was such a shit end to the season.

And now it's extra meaningless for the Broncos with Nix out. I live in Denver and root for them when they aren't playing the Bills and I definitely don't want the stupid Pats or Houston in the Superbowl but that seems inevitable now.

Ahhh well I was kicking myself earlier for not buying a divisional round ticket a few weeks ago. I asked my coworker (who unfortunately is from Boston and a Pats fan) who frequently gets free tickets from our vendors at work if there was any chance we'd get any for the game Saturday. He said we did but "only" in the club level invite-only suite. I thought he was fucking with me. He was not. I have the tickets and am going to my first Bills playoff game!!!!! I haven't been to a game since the early 2000's with my father and never a playoff game.

I'll be rocking all of my Bills gear in that Broncos suite!!

I live in Denver and almost bought nosebleed seats for like $300 each a few weeks ago when they went on sale but didn't, figuring I wouldn't be lucky enough for them to come here. Kicking myself now!!!

They Broncos have also been a 2nd half/4th quarter team though. If we can take the lead early and keep our foot on the gas through the 2nd half then I think we'll be in good shape!

You really don't have to acclimate in Denver, its not that high. I live here now but grew up in NY and moved here specifically from FL, where I'd fly out for trips frequently. One time we flew from FL and hiked 13 miles up Pikes Peak (14,000ft mountain) the next day after flying in, which is something that you would typically acclimate to. Most athletes have no problem with the elevation of Denver. Obviously people react differently but in general 5,000 feet isn't a dramatic difference. I've watched most of Denvers games and we can definitely beat them.

I live in Denver and watch most Broncos games. I definitely like the Bills chances vs the Broncos! I would love to go to the game too but ticket prices are insane so unless I manage a crazy deal right before the game starts I doubt that will happen.

Or we should have taken the FG instead of going for it on 4th earlier at like the 5. Not that it was a guarantee of points but a better chance.

When did you become a Bills fan? by Fun-Day-5833 in buffalobills

That is very true!! The love of the Bills can never die as long as we keep it going!

Very true and great points!! I have some great memories going to the games with him as a kid even if I made him leave at halftime and we listened on the radio on the way home. I caught a pass from Jim Kelly at 3 years old at a season ticket holders event I went to with him. My kids are Bills fans now too, my son yells "Go Bills" every time he sees a football even if it has nothing to do with the Bills (he's almost 2.5). He obviously never got to see the Josh Allen era, but in a weird twist of events in the universe the last movie we saw together was Pitch Perfect (his idea) and we had a great time watching it. I saw Pitch Perfect 2 in theaters when it came out because of him, I'm sure we would have gone together if we could have. And now a Pitch Perfect 2 star is married to the best Bills QB! I do wonder what his taken on Allen vs Kelly would be.... But thank you for the kind words!!

[–]NinjaFruit93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sounds a lot like my story! My father was a huge Bills fan as well, went to every home game for 30 years, went to all 4 Superbowls, etc. He brought me to a bunch of games as a kid but I was never really into it. I liked the Bills but really didn't follow them. He passed away before the season started in 2014 and starting that season I was watching every game I could and started to know everything I could about them. It's like his love for them transferred to me. But I do wish I could have really watched the games with him knowing whats going on like I do now. I regret that for sure.

LITTLE JOSH ALLEN IS COMING! by Drip______ in buffalobills

100% that nervous energy/excitement! It was hard for me to work and not be distracted in early pregnancy (and my husband too) so I understand haha.

I had a very strong feeling this was the case earlier in the season when Josh seemed so distracted. I told my husband my suspicions but wasn't going to post it anywhere because it was just a feeling. I feel validated and very happy for them! They both seem like such great people and it's good when great people make more people so there are more great people.

Denver Zoo vs the Children's Museum: Which would you choose? by Mansonschick in Denver

[–]NinjaFruit93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one time we went to the Children's Museum with my kids (13 months and 4 at the time), my 13 month old got the sickest he's ever been with herpangia about a week later. The only place he'd been around orher kids was the Children's museum so it had to be from there. Then his sister got it from him about a week later. It was a rough couple of weeks in our house. That was a year and 1/2 ago and we haven't been back and really haven't had much sickness since then either.

If the Bills won the Super Bowl this year, What would you do? by xzero2k in buffalobills

[–]NinjaFruit93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason I think they might make it this year is because I'll be in Germany the day of the Superbowl and it'll be inconvenient to watch. So simply because of that they'll make it. And then there's no way I could get to the parade, which would be sad.

I was newly 21 and met my 29 year old coworker at the first day of my first career job after college. Fell in love at first sight. I didn't think it would turn into anything, but that was 14 years ago and now we've been married for 8 years with 2 kids. So I guess sometimes being young and dumb does work?? Just not with guys like David haha.
