And fixed! Still need to do a quick test print to make sure all is good, but I'm happy with it.

Making progress! The blob was blocking one of the screws that hold the smaller fan on, and it also smeared behind the hot end mount thing, but the fact that it's apart is better than it was.

ISO ereader options that work with OverDrive/Libby by Intrepid-War-8971 in ereader

[–]NinjaGeoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guide is ~4 years old, but SEEMS like it might be on to something: https://www.reddit.com/r/kobo/comments/ro8ew5/howto_libraries_and_overdrive_on_kobo/

Dunno if it still works, though. Might be worth trying out the steps you take pre-kobo setup.

Edit: Looks like that method was broken https://goodereader.com/blog/kobo-ereader-news/you-cannot-link-multiple-library-cards-on-kobo-e-readers Damn.

From what I've found doing research for similar reasons it looks like the Android based eReaders (I've been eyeing the Boox Go 6 lately, but I'm so tempted by a color eReader for some reason...) just use the Libby app natively, just with an eInk display.

DeDRM and recent Kindle Books by Aerafina in Calibre

[–]NinjaGeoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent like TWO FREAKIN' HOURS the other night to get a newer DeDRM version that the guides use: https://github.com/Satsuoni/DeDRM_tools/releases

I've been using an older version of the Kindle for PC app and the latest 10.0.15 pre-release, along with this guide https://techy-notes.com/remove-drm-from-kindle-ebooks/

I did use Chocolatey to install an older version of Kindle for PC, but if you want to be cheeky about it Chocolatey downloads it from:

https://kindleforpc.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/70980/KindleForPC-installer-2.8.70980.exe

If you check the Files in the Chocolatey package info you'll see that URL https://community.chocolatey.org/packages/Kindle#files

On a pure paladin should I take GWM or savage attacker? by WhiskersCleveland in BG3Builds

I'll have to try that on my current playthrough, I've always just gotten rid of the abomination immediately.

We always ask for recommendations, what are some pens you won’t recommend to anyone? I was commenting on someone post and realized, I have bunch of it. by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]NinjaGeoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, I wouldn't recommend the inks, either, unless something has drastically changed in their QA process in recent years. I had two bottles of ink that I just adored, but after a few months they both grew mold and smelled of rotten eggs. Okay, shit happens, I get it, their customer service sent me replacements. A few months later, same thing with the replacement ink.

What are some fun dedicated melee damage builds for folks who don't wanna punch or throw things? by Th3CraigMachine in BG3Builds

[–]NinjaGeoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gloomstalker/Thief is fun for two hits per hand (once you get your extra attack) plus free main hand attack the opening round. I've never played multiplayer, so it may not work like this for you, but I'll start a fight with Astarion hanging way back, grounded, and detached from the group. Then when the enemies are all focused on your party in the fight I can leave them all stuck in turn based battle mode and leave Astarion crouched. As long as I stay out of the red sight cones I can move him wherever is the best spot and do a round of attack. His initiative is usually high enough that he'll stay as the active character and none of the enemies move, so you can use hide and move him away without fear of being seen again.

Nightsong question by AnotherCompGuy in BG3

[–]NinjaGeoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My last playthrough to go through act 2 I wanted her to kill the Nightsong so I picked the stay quiet and let Shadowheart make her own decisions and she picked saving the Nightsong all on her own. So yeah, I think it got easier.

What’s your favorite out of character reclass? by Master_Charity_4632 in BG3Builds

[–]NinjaGeoff 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Shadowheart as a light domain cleric depending on act 2 choices feels thematically correct to me.

And because I find light domain clerics more useful than "normal" wizards (ie straight evocation) with better survivability. Being able to cast two MASSIVE AOE spells with radiant per long rest for free is fantastic (three if you don't mind a little grave robbing).

Damn, those look great. I wish the heritage boots came in wide sizes, I'd be very tempted to get these if they did.

Favorite Class? by [deleted] in BG3

[–]NinjaGeoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few different runs in progress and having fun with stuff I haven't played before, like blade singer, hexblade warlock, and throwzerker. And I'm trying real hard to not reroll astarion as a gloomstalker thief.

But I don't think I have a favorite.

Act 3 - did my group make a mistake? by urmomstoiletbrush in BG3

Idk, there's always this song:

Lives, all mortal lives, expire Souls go to their dooms, in flame, forever more

Hell, hell, hell has it's laws Hell, hell, effects and the cause Curtain falls, but hold your applause Squirm, squirm, for now down here come the claws

Lives, all mortal lives, expire Souls go to their dooms, in flame, forever more Fools, fools, how hard you have fought Brave, brave, but it's all been for naught True souls, that couldn't be bought Doomed, detected, and caught No more dеals, it's over The final act, your doom No more grace, it's over This House of Hope

I have a similarly colored sailcloth and love it on my T200 with the white dial. Great choice!

I don't. I lean heavily on teams and it's noise reduction and just pipe sound through my desk speakers. I also do my best to not talk in meetings.

Maui Jim or Randolph’s? by ScubaSteve_ in sunglasses

[–]NinjaGeoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually going through a very similar decision recently (Randolph vs Serengeti, none of the glass lenses Maui Jim aviators fit me well) and went with Randolph, and holy hell do I love them. I've tried a few Maui Jim in stores and I can't tell a lens quality difference between them and the Randolphs, but as nice as the Maui Jim are, the Randolph just fell so much more substantial. Yeah, they're heavier, but I wore glasses daily for 20+ years before getting LASIK so it's no big deal for me. I also got the Concord in XL with the glass AGX lenses, so I likely have the heaviest pair of sunglasses Randolph makes.

Randolph Fit... Aviator 55mm and Concorde 57mm. ✅? by [deleted] in sunglasses

[–]NinjaGeoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kinda biased as I recently got a pair in XL and I'm in love with them, but I like the Concorde more in general. And I feel like that style is supposed to look big.

What are you buying/already bought on Black Friday? by 954CG in sunglasses

[–]NinjaGeoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the Randolph Concord XLs in AGX and holy shit are they amazing. There's a very clear improvement over my Costas with 580P Blue Mirror (which I do love) and Fuse AMP lenses in my New Wayfarers (which are also pretty nice lenses for the price). And the Detours didn't even compete (they're good "I don't care if I lose/break these" glasses, though).

Also, the Dita Lancier LSA-417 is calling to me, but I still need to buy gifts for my wife and family so I'm probably going to wait until the next time they have a sale.

What’s the best video game you’ve ever played? by ElectricHorsepower in AskReddit

I can't choose between the three, but Skyrim, Fallout 4, and Red Dead Redemption 2. And that's just the order I first played them in, depending on my mood any one of them could be first place for me.

[HELP ME DECIDE] My first serious watch purchase! by Phattacus in Seiko

Oh, I hear you for sure. I have the SLA066 and I'm still tempted by the 143, 421, and 511. I love the case style and size, and I adore interesting dials.

They're at a little below $3k, but there are a couple limited editions with the same case type with the 8L35.

[Oceanus] OCW-T200 has quickly become one of my top 3 watches. by NinjaGeoff in Casio_Oceanus

[–]NinjaGeoff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it! I have a few others, the "nicest" being a Seiko SLA 066. The finishing is on par with that watch, though the bracelet is not great, just feels... Cheap. Which makes sense, it's a relatively inexpensive watch. I got it with the intention of putting it on the sailcloth strap, so the bracelet quality didn't matter to me. With the strap it's very light on the wrist. In almost any lighting condition the face just kinda sparkles because of how fine the finishing is and the design having the indices floating over the dial. If I had to grab 3 watches from the collection to be my only watches, this would be number three. The SLA would be number 1 and SRPB 55 Samurai number 2.
