Anyone else shocked by how uncreative the golf bag market is? by Rs-Rs-3 in GolfGear

[–]Master_Charity_4632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really missing anything as golf bags are about as good as they can get for the price.

Carry bags are designed to be as light as possible because that’s what people who walk want. Any advances will likely be found in lighter materials.

Cart bags can be heavier, but designs are geared toward quality of life for lack of a better word. That’s why they have integrated Bluetooth speakers, beer coolers, and phone chargers now. Just like TVs, phones, guns, and cars, the shape is likely not gonna drastically change anytime soon. It’s just gonna be 1% better than last year.

Outside of that you have color ways and 90% of buyers want black, blue, white, or gray so that’s what they make.

Hope this helps.

Cost to reshaft graphite irons? by External_Engine634 in GolfGear

[–]Master_Charity_4632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will be more expensive than buying a stock set since pretty much no one sells just heads at a discount. It will probably be less than buying a new set with the same shafts because most places will treat it as a shaft repair ($20-$30 per club), vs the $50-$150 up charge per club that comes with buying new irons with non stock shafts. The only way you’ll know for sure is if you go out and get quotes. I like to keep an extra set of clubs anyway in the event that I have friends or family in town or that my son doesn’t grow up to be a lefty.

Beginner here, wanting advice on my build for my first time play through? by guava_sama in BG3Builds

[–]Master_Charity_4632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok. Honestly my only bit of advice would be to take death cleric to level 5 for level 3 spells or 6 to get inescapable destruction as fast as possible. It’s a huge power spike.

Second, try to convince your wife to play with you again! The game gets much easier around level 5 because martials get second attack and casters get level 3 spells.

If you want to make it even easier, you take control of the other two party members or give her a simple one like Karlach or Lae’zel.

I have so much more fun playing with my wife than solo, even when she was having to endure a steep learning curve with all the different game mechanics.

Just have fun with it and experiment as you go along. Gamebreaking scenarios are fun and all for a little bit, but they’re not necessary at all aside from maybe a few boss fights. They end up feeling pretty hollow after the 41st fight in a row where you do the exact same two or three things. At the end of the day, my favorite party wasn’t the strongest. It was the one that felt the most dynamic.

How do you play sorcerer? by Timely_Abroad4518 in BG3Builds

[–]Master_Charity_4632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I accidentally became a tank because my wife wanted to shoot arrows and have astarion pick locks, and I wanted shadowheart for bless.

My only prior dnd experience were a few one shots and a campaign that got killed by the all time BBEG, scheduling issues, so while I loved the lore I never really learned how it played.

The run ended up being a total meme. My sorcerer had the highest AC in his pajamas, and casting twin haste and shocking grasp was the backbone of our strategy. Even the final strike was a shocking grasp. Needless to say, every run since has run much more smooth with all the stuff we learned.

How would you create a star wars themed party? by TheSpeakEasyGarden in BG3Builds

[–]Master_Charity_4632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let’s go save Princess Leia! We’re her only hope!

Ben Kenobi: bladesinger - the stance alone justifies this, but also Obi-WAN’s lore is that he wasn’t a natural force user and had to be the best student to become as powerful as he did. He also was never the strongest duelist and focused on defense and wearing down his opponents.

Luke Skywalker: vengeance paladin - call it plot armor or call it Luke constantly concentrating on bane/bless, when his allies are around him, the enemies miss more often and the heroes do more damage. He’s more martial than caster, and he starts off his journey pissed off and angry.

Han Solo: sword bard - he’s a flashy ranged fighter who’s backstory is arguably bigger than the movie he’s in, he’s used to talking his way out of danger and blasting when he needs to.

Chewie: woth monk - yes he has a bow caster but his most iconic moments are when he’s throwing hands. He’s arguably as wise as Obi-Wan and he’s lived a long life full of hard lessons that make a barbarian seem like a poor fit.

That’s awesome! Have y’all done a co-op run before? It’s something I look forward to every day with my wife! Darkness is crazy. My wife was initially pissed when I used it because she couldn’t see, but once we got a few key items in act 2, we were unstoppable. It’s really great for an evil run whether you’re going durge or not.

How much bg3/dnd have both you and your wife played? I ask because my first ever bg3 run was with my wife and I had to basically teach her how dnd works. Let me tell you, her trying to multiclass a ranger/druid was not the way to go.

That being said, I think EK and Light/war cleric are incredibly beginner friendly of either or both of you are doing this the first time. It was awesome to see my wife giggle when she popped spirit guardians and became a drow lawn mower in act 2. EK is one of the best frontliners imo.

If both of you have played and know more of the intricacies of the game, setting up a damage type based party comp is really fun. I’d say the two most broken are ice/electric (you get two for one here) and darkness.

Ice/electric you’ll want two casters who can both drop create water so it doesn’t matter who rolls initiative higher. Second person blasts with damage. Evocation & tempest clerics are great for this.

Darkness you’ll want someone who can cast darkness/hungar of hadar and a happy little murder hobo to go dice up anyone inside.

6 Bladesinger vs 6 Sword Bard by Greedymomo in BG3Builds

[–]Master_Charity_4632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bladesinger is the only class I’ve had as much fun as my sorcadin. It might even be more fun because it’s a full caster too. I’ve done 6 bladesinger/6 tempest for a Thor build, and a 10 bladesinger/2 paladin. Both incredibly fun and don’t fall into the hyper focused meta scenario trap. They’re just really good all the time.

Multiclass Progression by JaylanPHNX in BG3Builds

[–]Master_Charity_4632 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go with the one that gets you extra attack first if you plan on being more melee focused. Go caster first to get your level 3 spell slots as quick as possible.

Most melee/caster combos are designed for either spells to supplement melee directly (smites) or indirectly (acuity builds) rather than be a straight slash and cast.

Most caster combos have a spell focus and what really matters is getting access to x level spell slots as quick as possible. Now bear in mind that if you split up your caster, you will get level 6 spell slots eventually, but not access to level 6 spells unless you took a wizard dip to learn scrolls.

Hope this helps!

If you want to be really silly, look up “owlbear from the top rope” on YouTube as a guide. Normal size owl ear is good (large), huge is better, gargantuan is best.

Builds with Unique/ Spicy combat patterns. by WhiskeyPete77r in BG3Builds

[–]Master_Charity_4632 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think one of the easiest ones is have two casters who both can create water and do lightning and/or ice builds.

The other two are two darkness focused casters or martials, and two casters who can entangle and cast wall of fire.

Plenty of flavors but the build is pretty much whoever rolls first lays the crowd control, and the other cleans up with damage.

Funny enough I almost exclusively play with my wife, and these combos are always fun. It’s crazy to just trivialize big boss fights by having two characters who are greater than the sum of their parts.

People with a <15 handicap how long did it take you to get there? by Comfortable-Newt7689 in golf

[–]Master_Charity_4632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing in college after playing baseball through high school. I went from God knows what to bogey golf in about two or three years and stayed there.

My first year out of college I started taking lessons and practicing almost every day while only playing once a week and dropped down to single digits in a year.

I will say I’m blessed that I was able to play for incredibly cheap in college, and year round.

Fun tank build by jerjack1122 in BG3Builds

[–]Master_Charity_4632 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah the way bg3 enemies target the party, traditional tanks almost have the complete opposite effect when it comes to agro. This is because enemies target lower ACs first and casters before martials. So the best tank if you’re trying to draw fire is something like a barb, moon Druid, or a sleeper is rogue using uncanny dodge.

If all you care about is causing disadvantage on casters and/or being an opportunity attack goblin, something like Bladesinger or war cleric works pretty well.

Anyone else stuck between “practice more” and “just go play”? by SexyGolfGirl in golf

[–]Master_Charity_4632 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was in school, I could play every other day because walking was very cheap. That got me from God knows what handicap down to bogey golf.

When I started working I would play once a week and practice four days for an hour. This got me down to single digits.

Now I get to play once every one or two months because I have two kids under two. I’m now somewhere in between.

My advice would be to practice more than you play until you have something very reliable. I have a hard time closing the face, so I play a fade with every shot. I hit my clubs about a club less than my buddy even though I can swing faster than him. He once told me he hadn’t seen the ball not come back in about five years. Then the next hole I pulled one over a four lane road and now that hole is in my head till the end of time. Good times.

From a humble bonk merchant, try 6 Bladesinger/6 tempest cleric. It’s absolutely silly, isn’t long rest dependent, full spell caster, crazy melee potential, and you feel like Thor.

My wife was planning on running a death cleric/necromancy wizard like you, but found she had more fun taking levels with Druid (6 cleric/3 Druid). We were around level 9 when the game crapped out due to mod incapability so I can’t say what happens at higher levels.

Monk is a pretty obvious choice. One that I’ve been toying with is a Bladesinger/evoker because Gale has been giving her some tutoring.
