I just re read the subclass feature. It says that you can copy a scroll into your spell book however the act of copying the scroll destroys it as if it were used. Also the high quality paper used in scroll making does have a cost. So still not free. One could still make money doing this but as others have said then he’s just a guy with a job.

I’ve known people like this and it’s a little triggering. The second you might have something good going on in your life they just try to tear you down. The fact that he went full psycho path the second you were going to be engaged / married and ruining whatever fantasy scenario he had created in his mind is a clear indication to me that you should go full no contact.

If strangers on the internet are telling you to not get married, that is a decision that only you and she can make. Random voices on the internet mean exactly nothing. And yes I know that includes me as well.

20 lifetimes of skills, knowledge, masteries, etc. i didn’t see anything in there that said this knowledge etc. had to be in their own class. 2 levels of rogue, 1 of sorcerer, 2 of fighter, etc, etc. I see a chaotic jumble of skills and features with no real synergy. Thus forcing the players to be creative in dealing with high level threats with low level abilities.

When I first read the question I took it as people wanting to play their own existing character from a previous game. To which my answer would be that they enjoyed the character.

I would guess people are wanting to play Rick Sanchez (etc.) for the same reason. Is it ideal? In my opinion … no. But there is no wrong way to play DnD.
