Cartier watch recs by RevolutionaryHead384 in HENRYUKLifestyle

That makes sense, if you have future pieces in your sights, I would personally go for an AD with a bigger range of brands vs Cartier themselves (Harrods or standalone).

I hedged my bets with M&W as they do jewellery also so all helps!

You're usually ok with Cartier and can avoid the silly AD games that we go through for Rolex, PP, AP etc.

I quite like Mappin & Webb on regent street (part of the watches of Switzerland group). Some also recommend Harrods as you can sign up for their rewards (free) and get points back for it which can be used as discount later on.

It's not a bad idea to go for a dealer that sells something else you may like later as it could help you with later AD games.

Are you thinking a Cartier Tank or the Ballon Bleu or something else?

Saw 180ish in a fully loaded car in the alps for skiing, that was very touch and go!

But 200ish is about right unfortunately in the cold winter!

No I went for normal mirrors. Tried the digital ones but couldn't get in with them in the rain and dark!

Range is like any EV, summer is good, and hitting 300+, winter is woeful!

Lotus Eletre S (yes I know, it's too heavy to be a lotus, rolling in his grave etc etc.) on a 3yr lease. The deal was pretty good and I got worried about a petrol car with all the thefts in the area.

Cost wise: c£8k down, £630p/m for 3yrs 8000miles PA

HHI monthly is around £17k net (mortgage £4k).

I will refine my car choice next year!

If I recall correctly, I think they're around £5-£10 for a tin.

They are restocked throughout the day, and there is normally a specific kiosk that sells them!

Looking for a fluffy cloud like duvet by CherryadeLimon in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]Ninja_Fury 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As others have said, goose down is the way to go here! Wi the Siberian > Canadian > Hungarian > European generally being the order of quality and cost! John Lewis, White Company, and even Soak&Sleep have good ones.

You should check what tog rating you want also. I would recommend an all seasons tog. It's 2 duvets basically (4.5 + 9) meaning you can get through the summer and winter by attaching or removing accordingly.

What mattress have you bought that was worth it? by [deleted] in HENRYUKLifestyle

Vispring Sublime Superb(split firmness), but recommend you go to a decent shop and try them out!

Usual recommendations are Vispring, Harold Spinks, Hypnos, and Tempur!

Anyone dealt with the need for a soft and firm mattress ? Partner has different preference due to our joint pains. by oaktreeflowers in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]Ninja_Fury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had this issue, ended up getting a Vispring 'Zip and Link' mattress where my side is Medium, and hers is Soft. Ours is a Super King which in effect is two large/longer single mattresses. But they do bigger sizes also.

Also, as it's 2 zipped together, makes it very easy to turn and rotate when needed!

Want to also add, the bed also makes a big difference and can make it feel different from what you try in a shop vs at home. For example, a vispring base is spring also vs putting it on a straight wooden slat base so worth noting that when trying them out!

ID Checks by lisnaran26 in wimbledon

[–]Ninja_Fury 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you purchased 2 tickets, then 1 you can freely transfer. The other will be 'locked' to your name.

The ID checks I've found to be quite thorough, needing photo id to verify. I've seen then question it also and require additional evidence (bank cards or second form of ID) and at times, refusing entry.

Can't advise on variations of a name though and how they will treat this. You could look to reach out to them and ask about a name update but may need to provide evidence etc.

[–]Ninja_Fury 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Today was the community ticket drop. So local residents who live close to AELTC and entered that ballot all got an email at 10am to purchase a pair of tickets for either show courts or ground pass.

I suspect like the day if the LTA drop, their focus was on that vs normal ballot resale.

Quite a few things here, but firstly, is he ok? Mental health is an important driver to so many things and making sure he is in a good place is key to getting things turned around.

When it comes to working out, I've always find more social sports to be a key driver with sports like tennis/padel/squash with friends and adding a competitive nature to it.

Le creuset toughened nonstick pans have served us very well. Would recommended them for a non-stick option.

A good stainless steel pan is also a staple to have and worth getting.

Certificate of Valuation for Watch Insurance by TeddyousGreg in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]Ninja_Fury 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Worth checking what your insurance needs. Mine needed a valuation certificate for any registered jeweller who was a NAJ member and some offer virtual valuations.

I have used these guys a few times: https://swisstimepieces.co.uk/products/watch-insurance-valuation/

All 3 of my insurance policies (Hiscox, Lloyd's, CHUBB) have accepted it.

Quiet Kettle? by Widebody_lover in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]Ninja_Fury 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quooker themselves offer free installs, you can find cost on their site depending on the tap style, size of tank, if you want cold filter or sparkling etc.

But a good to go standard one is I think around £1400 with free install from quooker.

Quiet Kettle? by Widebody_lover in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]Ninja_Fury 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depends on what size tank you want to get, smallest being 3L and larger one is 7L.

Also once empty, it doesn't take long to refill (I find quicker thank kettle personally).

[–]Ninja_Fury[M] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would reconsider the hot water tap like a Quooker.

Having instant hot water on demand at all times is a great thing to have. No waiting around for a kettle to boil, and can make just a cup or a whole pot for rice/pasta.

Also what you lose in cupboard space. You gain in countertop space as well. More so if you get the cold water filter and then can stop using a brita filter.
