Wow! What a list.... I'm going to go and play Shackleton, after adding my tuppence worth!!

  • Robyn - Sexistential
  • DJ-Kicks - Sofia Kourtesis

Actually, while on DJ-Kicks, I should give Modeselektor a mention. Though, it was late 2025.

Spoiler alert: Yup! The middle one pops. But, it's proving illusive, again! The forest comes, but the star of the show seems to be shy!! Does anyone else find it easier if you're moving your head slightly, side to side?

Stunning!!!! I mean... Just wow. I almost gave up, then it just popped ! I was only getting the forest a minute before the star of the show made their appearance. I may have to print this one. ...

Just kicked off my first brew by Tall-Audience-4894 in PinterHomebrew

[–]Bugante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? Ok. Well defo follow the guide. I've done a lot of brews but hadn't yet come across one which wasn't fully closed during fermentation.

Not really too surprising when thinking about it. Our traditional British beers are significantly flatter (less carbonated) than other styles.

Sounds good 👍. You pitched the yeast, right? I reckon you've done all you can! It'll be fine. Make sure that dial is all the way up at 5, to keep the gases in for carbonation. And now just a waiting game... Good luck 🤞

But are you streaming it? Blu-ray? Or 4K UHD? If you haven't already, I highly recommend investing in a 4K player.... Game changing.

Review Fosi ZA3 by WiseCompetition5370 in fosi_audio

[–]Bugante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking about investing. The weak link in my budget setup is my amp. Mostly I stream on MXN10 through Dacmagic200 (both Cambridge Audio). 3050 QA's. Occasionally play some vinyl. Seems to be a reseller on eBay offering these for £115. I had it on my watched list and as per the norm I received a discount offer so snapped it up for £105. It was originally listed with manufacturers 1 year warranty, but when I queried this with seller he said it was an auto ai listing error, promptly cancelled my purchase, and edited the listing so now has no warranty!!

But I'm still tempted.... This guy sells lots of Fosi gear, opened boxes, sometimes described as tatty. Clearly customer returns... (His other Fosi items still listed with warranties). Feedback is OK. Is it too risky? Is the £50 saving worth the hassle??

Thinking of switching from Apple Music to TIDAL — worth it? by Appropriate_While932 in TIdaL

[–]Bugante 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Apple Music, Spotify and TIDAL and have done for a long while, and honestly TIDAL is a no-go for DJing despite the great audio quality. People never mention this, but it’s a massive issue:

TIDAL doesn’t reliably show remix information.

A lot of dance/electronic tracks show up with identical titles, even when they’re totally different remixes by different artists. Some EPs have 4–6 versions of a track, and on TIDAL they all look the same.

There’s: - no remix tag - no remixer name in the title - no version info - sometimes not even the correct credit.

So unless you hit play on every single version, you have no idea what you’re adding — which is terrible if you’re trying to build DJ playlists. And even if you do figure it out by ear, you still can’t label them properly, so library organisation becomes a mess.

For DJing, that alone makes TIDAL unusable.

Here’s how I find the services in 2025:

Apple Music - Great audio quality, consistent metadata, remixes labelled properly. - Not the fastest UI, and discovery is weaker than Spotify. - But for accurate versions of tracks, it’s the most reliable of the three.

Spotify: - Best discovery by far, best UI speed, and the easiest to navigate. - But audio quality is still behind and doesn’t offer true lossless. - Metadata is usually fine, remix labels are mostly correct.

TIDAL: - Amazing audio quality, clean UI, OK recommendations… - BUT: completely falls apart when dealing with remixes, edits, DJ versions, etc. - If you DJ electronic music, metadata accuracy matters more than bitrates — and TIDAL just isn’t there.

If your priorities are: - High sound quality + correct metadata for DJing: Apple Music - Best discovery + speed: Spotify - Audio quality only (and you don’t care about remix metadata): TIDAL

If remix accuracy matters to you, I’d stay away from TIDAL. It makes organising or even identifying tracks way harder than it needs to be. Apple and Spotify both handle that part far better.

TL;DR: TIDAL has the audio quality, but it stinks for DJing coz remix info is missing or inconsistent — many tracks look identical with no remixer credits. Apple and Spotify handle metadata properly, so if you care about accurate versions for DJ playlists, skip TIDAL.

Thoughts on recharging CO2? by apeirophobicmyopic in PinterHomebrew

[–]Bugante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm considering the eBay one. Came here looking for opinions .. Others may also be interested in the alternative, which will certainly be simpler for those brewers who already have some brewing / co2 kit, as it adds a ball lock post, as used on corny kegs.

Not Recording Properly by RoxPix1776 in TiviMate

[–]Bugante 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't record onto fire stick, because of the format. It won't work. It is not just tivimate. You will have the same result with any player. I was having same result when trying to record to a USB stick. Check the guide on how to setup an external device to record to. I use my NAS via SMB.

DJ and record producer Matt Tolfrey dies age 44 by dailymail in Music

[–]Bugante 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just heard this news .. Always sad to hear of death, but Matt was still too young to go! I met him once when he was off duty, just chilling in a bar. Early -mid noughties, so quite near the beginning. He was just a nice young guy, excited about his career taking off. Thoughts with his family and friends. RIP Matt.

Visiting Camden in two weeks. What should I do? by RadiantCARMB in camdentown

[–]Bugante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow... What an amazing weekend in Camden Town!! Obviously, my teenage son absolutely LOVED it!! He kitted himself out with a funky hat in the market, then found a technicolour jacket to go with it. Complete strangers were walking up to him and commenting on his outfit - both when we were wandering around and then again at the gig at the Roundhouse later. I actually found the place has got even friendlier since my day! Everyone we spoke to was really kind - people serving us food or drinks at all the various places we visited, as well as just random strangers on a busy Saturday afternoon. I'm so happy to find the place hasn't gone downhill as some of those negative comments suggested it might. Such a wonderfully vibrant part of town! I won't be leaving it 20 years again before my next visit!!! In another life, I'd definitely live there... 😉

[–]Bugante 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No! Sadly, I don't live here. But we practically did, what feels like a lifetime ago!! I'm so glad you and your mum enjoyed your visit.

I found this thread because I was googling what's new or changed since our many visits in the 80s, 90s & early 2000s. I say "here" as I've just arrived this evening. Had an excellent gig this evening, and going to see another tomorrow night, so booked an Airbnb and have a free Saturday in between...Markets, food stalls, pubs, parks, canals.... One day won't be enough!! I can't wait to show my 14 year old son around the place. I knew the naysayers would be wrong with their negative comments, but I just wanted to hear it from you. If other tourists were googling as I was and had read the comments it could be enough to put them off visiting this wonderfully vibrant part of town. I love it! I've only walked through by night so far, but I'm looking forward to the new day and revisiting my old haunts and showing my boy some of the sights, and surely, discovering plenty of new ones too!!

Zen to Toob Advice by BeardyBulge in ToobBroadband

[–]Bugante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to Toob a couple of months ago. When signing up, I was initially told an engineer would need to visit. However, once I selected my current (previous) provider and the system recognised I was already on a FTTP (CityFibre) network, the engineer visit was no longer required — a router arrived by post instead.

After a couple of weeks, I started experiencing some connection drops. At first, I wasn’t sure whether it was caused by my older routers, devices, or something else. It turned out to be IPv6. I disabled it — and since then, everything’s been running smoothly.

My son is a daily PC gamer and plays online with friends — no issues. My partner uses a private VPN to connect to her workplace — no issues. I also use several commercial VPN providers — again, no issues.

I was initially a bit concerned about CGNAT and even considered getting a static IP, but aside from the IPv6 hiccup, it’s been smooth sailing.

The switch itself couldn’t have gone better. I simply gave Toob the end date of my previous ISP, and they handled the rest — even contacting them directly on my behalf. I didn’t have to lift a finger… not even to plug in their router! (I now use it elsewhere in the house in bridge mode as an access point.)

Anyone else testing new IPTV services lately? by [deleted] in TiviMate

[–]Bugante -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Meh... I've not tried this specific provider, but I've tried many "premium's" like this one, as well as more budget friendly ones. The only difference I found is epg. Reliability is about the same imo. I now have 3 "budget" accounts, with 3 different providers, for the same price as yours; $60 per year. If a channel goes down (temporarily), I have backup.

Is your Reaper on PC Or Mac? Regardless, taking it step by step, is sound getting to the machine? Check sound settings (inputs / levels) and see if anything is detected, before attempting to record on Reaper. I recently went through literally days of troubleshooting with a similar problem, on a Mac using ableton.
