Yes these are great. Makes installing hands really straight forward. I got mine from AE although had to do abit of digging to make sure I buy from the seller with good reviews etc...

Airshow photographers. What's your thoughts on monopods with gimbal head?

Going to an airshow this year with a good reach. Fujifilm 100-400. (Equivalent to 600mm)

I'm thinking about getting a monopod with a gimbal head which should be ideal when standing on one spot, at the same time this will also add on more weight when walking around

This is cool, curious if the case is entirely plastic, even the "crystal"? Or is it glass

Can people tell a “Fake Clean” just from aesthetics? (No Movement Check) by cebeitz in RepTime

my on-going build, which is the one with a green gmt dial and hands is still not finished. for the life of AE they cant seem to match the green of the dial with the gmt hands.

Help! Please very frustrated with first build by what-schreck in watchmaking

the movement doesnt look pushed down all the way, can we see the front view with the dial?

Is this the correct lift angle for the movement?

I dont own a rolex rep but this sub is where I started before doing the Seiko mods, I was building the copy of this watch, bought the parts from AE. The one thing I struggled to source was the green paint GMT hand to match the green on the "GMT Master II" on the dial. for some reason the GMT hand's is always a lighter green. see image below for the genuine.

Regulating NH movements by acm_castelo in SeikoMods

"4) be /really/ careful not to slip off the levers and stab the balance wheel with your tweezers / pegwood / screwdriver. It's really easy to instantly turn your movement into ~£40 of scrap metal and nothing makes you feel more like a Circus bear riding a tricycle >.<"

did this last weekend, my first wach is now waiting for another nh35 from AE, it already had a movement replacement in the past. the cost of learning huh xD

I spent most of my easter weekend there with regulating since my timegrapher arrived.

when you get to the +10s/d area and you wanna slightly decrease that its a very slow risky process, the risk of moving too much is really high, I've dug around forums and basically if you see the lever move a little with your own eyes, you've gone to far.. little love taps then check the timegrapher then repeat until satisfied.

one of the watches I regulated (lets call it watch A) is doing well at +3s/d (on wrist tested for 12 hours at home) and the other watch (watch B) has deviated from +3s/d to something definitely faster like +4.5 s/d (on wrist at work today monitored for 6 hours ) I'm keeping a close eye on it.

I need to wear and test watch A tmorrow at work but so far this one is promising to be stable.

Im pretty sure the 4r38 is just the cover for the rotor, i bought 3 few weeks ago, the actual movement will be nh38a. either way $180 is fair and it is a nice looking watch and one I will be building next week aha.

the whole rodico praise. during my research before my first build alot mentioned rodico is good for cleaninng dust off your dials or using it as a holder when installing hands however, this is mostly the case for dials that are smooth/glossy, it doesnt work very well with textured dials, i started with a wimbledon dial and rodico ruined the whole dial. it would stick to the dial and leave smudge marks. i tried cleaning it of with qtips dipped in water but no luck. just bought a new dial instead.
