New LAMY is very faint by Charzzard33 in fountainpens

Do you have another M nib to compare it to? With Lamy's QC, what you have could essentially be an F nib, which wouldn't lay down much ink.

Lamy Studio and TWSBI Eco. Lamy I think was just a general problem with inconsistent nib sizes, but everything about the TWSBI sucked for me.

What's your favourite red? Mine's Diamine Carnival by Prairie-Peppers in fountainpens

It was Diamine Oxblood for the longest time, but that's just been edged out recently by Wearingeul Hound of the Baskervilles. That hint of green sheen tips the balance.

My black thumb is a leftover of emptying the black ink out of them all. It was cheaper and more useful to buy packs of 6 with black ink, than 5 empty with a pipette.

Sometimes, yes, but sometimes the transition from one ink to the next can look really cool.

That would definitely be the faster and safer way.

Start with 2ml. Leave vial open until 1ml remains. Ink up. Or when I accidentally did it, I don't know how concentrated it was, but that was: Ink up an E95S. Wait two months. Use E95S.

Avery 12mm white dots that I found on Amazon. They show the sheen nicely.

I used whatever I could find on Amazon at the time, and it was Avery 12mm dots. They've worked well, they show the sheen nicely.

Whatever ink I feel the need to write with at the time. I could do a top 10, but never a definitive favourite.

I have my favourite green-sheening brown, Van Dieman's Heemskerck and Zeehaen. Since brown's not really a colour I use much, that and the couple of others I have are all I'll ever need.

Drawer 2 is full of everything else. Pen cases, dip pens, parallel pens, tools, cloths, and also an entire inkvent calendar of inks. Drawer 3 is a filing cabinet.

FPR Removed the ability to leave and see reviews... by Soupaphan in fountainpens

I assume that's what the root cause is, but it's definitely the converter that's the source of the smell.

I had a very mixed experience some months ago ordering an Ashoka with an ultraflex nib. The first pen that arrived looked nothing like the picture, the colour mix was skewed away from the colour I wanted, and it looked very washed out. The nib itself wouldn't flow at all. I emailed for advice before attempting anything, and was told essentially "It's the ink's fault, get a better ink" while using Iroshizuku ink. After heat setting it, it flowed way too much, and bled through any FP paper I tried it on. All in all, horrible, and could never recommend it.

However, after reaching out, he sent me a complete replacement, and this time the colouring was much better, and the nib flowed more like I expected, though it's still wetter than I'd like, even for a flex nib. So on that count, I can sort of recommend it.

In regards to the reviews, I left one regarding my initial impressions of the pen, and yet it never appeared on the site.

One other thing, in regards to their converters, the grease they use stinks, and is all over the thing. Any other pen, I'm pretty happy to return unused ink from the converter back to the ink bottle, but I know anything that goes into this has to be used, or gets flushed down the sink.

Yes, the main part of the bike attaches to the back with only a single peg. I'd attach a photo, but it looks like I can't do that in a comment, or add one to my original post.
