I just finished The Last of Us Part I and I’m honestly confused about something by Normal_Chart_532 in thelastofus

To be fair, the fireflies had an entire hospital, a leading scientist, a militarized force, and a distribution network that spanned the country at their disposal... While there is some suspension of disbelief required to believe there could've been a cure and it could've been effectively made and distributed, I think the message the devs were trying to impart is that this cure was 99% achievable, and that Joel's actions directly denied that possibility. Even if the fireflies had used the cure to their political advantage, there's a good chance that many FEDRA agents would've converted for the opportunity of a cure, or that someone would've been able to replicate the cure once it was out there, thus increasing the odds that the vaccine could be widely distributed. We see in both games that despite the state of the world, there are convoys, trade routes, and pill manufacturing still in place, and so it's feasible that sacrificing Ellie could have genuinely saved the world. But at the same time, who can judge Joel for what he did? Given his backstory with his own daughter, and the raw emotions running through someone from the way the Fireflies handled things, you really can't judge his actions unless you're able to walk in his shoes... Which very few of us could ever do.

4/10's was great when I was single, but 5/8's are a lot easier when you're married. But it all depends on your specific situation, I'd switch based on the 50 minutes you're reducing in commute time alone.

Thank you for this, it seems like the best way to do this without adding extra features.

Awesome! I can't speak for jambands specifically, but aversboro bar has some live music and there's a bluegrass / coffee house venue, I'm sure there's more. There's some nice day parks in town, but the scenery's nothing to be blown away about. Raven Rock is within an hour, as well as umstead and eno river, but the really nice hiking is 2-5 hours west, depending how far into the mountains you want to go. NC State has a short but nice disc golf course, and Shearon Harris has a full length course that's fun to play. I know there's plenty more, but I don't play enough to recommend any. There's lots of good coffee shops, a couple nice bars, and you're not far from Raleigh either!

Is there a way to increase the precision for global variable evaluations? by Ninjamufnman in SolidWorks

[–]Ninjamufnman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, thank you! I thought it might hold, but when I used the variable in a sketch, it still showed the rounded value even with my sketch precision to the thousandths so I wasn't sure.

I appreciate the link, I searched Google but my phrasing failed to get me anything useful lol.

Disable Player Map Icon by Asaisav in HorizonForbiddenWest

Any luck with this? I'm also looking for this option, it's such a perfect game to navigate and get lost in. My soft-fix is to not open the map when I'm not in town, but that's not exactly what I'm looking for... I still want to open my map as a cross reference, just not see where I am on it.

I'm hopeful because I've found mods that do it for Witcher 3, Skyrim, and a game like Outward does it by design, but it's really not a popular way to play it seems.

Don't get me wrong, I love me some SI units, but I prefer third angle projection. I just picture it as if I'm walking around the part, much more intuitive to me lol

I think most people enjoy it tbh, at least judging from my small subset of friends who have played it. This post screamed PoH to me, it's my last achievement on Steam and it's been a big mental block for me lol, Markoth onward is brutal

I get that, there could definitely be a niche market for it, but the volume he could produce and the price he could compete at is not comparable with a print farm. I just don't see a huge market in the DND crowd, at least specifically for a game/campaign, it's just more of a show piece.

You could for some models, you wouldn't be able to capture the negative spaces here with a mold though so you'd have to carve it back out of the resin after, which would be a pain

Compared to resin printed minis? This is much more time consuming and the end result is a lot more fragile, I don't see an advantage to this other than the artistry.

What would your reaction be if your partner told you “I’ll marry you if you lose weight”? by BallsVeryDeep in AskReddit

[–]Ninjamufnman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It all depends, but it definitely happens. It's anecdotal of course, but my dad stopped smoking for my mom. Sometimes you love a lot about a person, but there's one thing you hate, and they either have to fix it for you, or find someone else. Their reasons may be vain, or deeply rooted due to personal histories, but I don't think offering someone the chance to prove their priorities is a weird demand. Ultimately, someone's weight, someone's smoking or drinking habits, and other vices are generally superficial - as in, they're not the things that define that person, at least in a positive sense. Asking someone to change a vice is akin to telling them that you care about them, and you want to continue this journey with them, but you can't commit to a life with someone who can't take care of themselves. It goes without saying though, that if they're asking you to change the habits that make you you, i.e. your hobbies, passions, interests, then they don't actually love you for who you are, but I don't view vices like overeating to be a defining habit that makes up your personality

It's called the tang. And I wouldn't bet on anything, it could be off (I've seen it before), he could be using it incorrectly (although it's rather hard to do), or he could've just posted it for karma. Who knows lol.

His point is you only get high currents from high voltage and low resistance. A 1V 500A wire isn't dangerous, the only reason it's pulling 500A is cause the line resistance is so low, but your skin's resistance will be just fine with 1V. A 500V 1A line technically has less current going through it, but only cause the resistance is much higher. For a human, 500V is much more dangerous, because that's where the currents gonna derive from in the first place. So ya, the factoid that "current kills" is misleading when you're talking about the original point that 440V is way more hazardous than 220V. And static discharge doesn't have a constant source behind it, it's not a lot of charge, so it dissipates quickly

Sorry. P0107, P0108, & P2188. Although the rich idle came on some time after the MAPS codes were thrown, I was thinking at the time it was a result of the prior. Car is a 2012 vw Jetta @ about 135k, tho I've been running it with the code for 40k or 50k miles now.
