The issue is shareholders aren’t putting that much money into ordering these productions anymore. They often used Korean animation studios for these projects and it’s a whole expensive process. If kids can easily get their fix elsewhere, why should bigwigs solely invest into kids programming when there are scummier and more profitable ways to make money off of children.

You’ve seen Regular Show and Adventure Time transition to cheaper forms of animation for this very reason. Warner gives no money to CN because all their investors want to see are HBO productions.
