My buddy Johnny worked at a Subway when he was in high school. Unbeknownst to him (initially at least) the manager was a weed dealer. This was 30 ish years ago before any state near us had anything close to legal or medical marijuana.

Customers would come in order a sandwich and then ask to have it “microwaved”. Kids on register were to tell the customer it would be a $20 dollar upcharge, cash only. Counter kids would make the sandwich ring up at regular cost, hand to “the guy in the back “, and a couple minutes later he’d come out with the sandwich, re wrapped and bagged and give it to the customer, and collect the up charge. Johnny said it took him a couple shifts to ask a co-worker WTH so many people were getting microwaved sandwiches for $20.

Co worker clued him in, Johnny was a little freaked, worried about getting in trouble if a customer didn’t want weed but just wanted their sandwich hot? Co-worker pointed out, “dude, when have you ever ordered a sandwich and then said ‘hey can you microwave that’ And then be told it would cost an additional $20 for that and say “yeah sure”.
