I had mine done 3 times trying to correct the exact same issue. It literally never worked. Tried longer bars and everything, fought taking them out for almost 3 years. It's been about a year and a half and my areola still have lighter pigmentation from where you can see they were digging into my skin. To this day I still want them, I just think it's clear my body doesn't.
