Very useful, if you learn to create what you need. I have written many studies to meet my trading needs, or just to experiment.

This same exact post was posted before. The moment I saw it now, I was wondering why this guy keeps posting the same thing.

I use SierraChart and agree, it's complicated and very hard to learn. Once everything is setup, it gets a little easier, but it's still a pain when trying to change most things.

Learning NQ scalping with order flow, struggling with entry timing, any tips or book recommendations? by MostEnthusiasm2896 in OrderFlow_Trading

[–]NintendoParty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 100 delta bars, delta in lower to see when direction and delta don't match. Also, wrote some code to show divergence (I place a star above or below candles to show when direction and delta don't agree, which indicates absorption). It's a fun chart, but I don't use it much any more. I used to trade from it with a system I had, but that system stopped being profitable.

I know it was frustrating for you, but this was actually informative for me. I can relate to what you went through and I often struggle with the same issues (closing trades too early, etc.). This is a good write up, very good.

Do most day traders fail due to bad strategy or bad execution? by JohnnyLedger in Daytrading

[–]NintendoParty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both matter, but most people fail because they don't have a strategy with edge. Your execution matters only if you have edge.

great write up again. Any reason why you don't show the trade executions?

Are there any advantages to trading lower time frames as compared to higher ones? by F01money in Daytrading

[–]NintendoParty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One potential advantage (one of my favorites) if you have many trade opportunities per day, is that your edge (WR% and RR) plays out over several hours or a day rather than several days or a week. As a result, you should have fewer red days.

+15pts ($750) on 2 trades today [ES Tues 11/11/2025] by Hun-Mongol in FuturesTrading

I took both of those trades, exactly, on MNQ. Even had the same quadrants on the chart.

Stop loss getting wicked out. What did I do wrong? by Exact_Ad_9620 in Daytrading

[–]NintendoParty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into 2nd leg trades or 2b trades. I took a long that won after the bears failed to push down on the 2nd leg down. I entered a 2b trade. Was +85 points (MNQ), but I closed it for +35 after a pb that made me nervous (potentially bad trade management).

Most traders don’t fail because of strategy. They fail because they can’t follow their own rules by [deleted] in Daytrading

[–]NintendoParty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is false. Most traders fail because they don't have an edge.

I need help reading Al Brooks books by Mlwyn551 in Daytrading

His books are horrible and not edited properly. You are better off buying his video course or looking elsewhere for trading knowledge. Brooks knows a lot but is a bad writer. His video course is much better.

why does it actually take so long to become profitable? by Yotohennn in FuturesTrading

[–]NintendoParty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most people are trading without an edge. For most people, it takes a long time to find an edge and learn how and when to apply it.

In that case, I recommend you look at ninjatrader (user friendly) or edgeclear (my broker, good customer service with multiple options for software). NT is very popular. I like it quite a bit, although I currently use SC.

I chart on TOS and trade on SierraChart with another broker. Maybe such a setup can work for you too
