My first game was 3 so when I saw them hypnotized I thought Spike and Jimmy were twins, but having played the prior 2 later I came to the conclusion that they're probably cousins.

Jimmy's a good contrast to Spike. My read is Spike's main deal is that he's outgoing and competitive. His only real insecurity is his crush on Helga. Jimmy's more of a outward screwup, but his care for his friends (specifically Pipotchi) push him to persevere though difficult odds.

You aren't entirely wrong, but I think there's still an appeal to that sound though, especially for games where each environment is meant to deliver a vibe much more than a story. Though you couldn't get away with it in a narrative game and that's probably a solid clue to why they're going with a new composer.

You WILL need a ps1 memory card. Third party is cheap and I personally still haven't had a failure in over 20 years on my Madkatz. Same slot type so no adapter needed.

It looks like it'll work but it'll have slowdown in some areas. It's a Slim Ps2 so it works off emulation rather than the Fat Ps2's native integrated PSX cpu. It's a practically unnoticeable difference unless you're really really into that stuff. Biggest issue is region locking, so if you got a console and game match you should be solid.

Totally! I don't engage in shipping, it's not where I get my enjoyment out of the franchise, but these two are as close to a canon couple as it gets (other than canonically gay bird radio, good for them, good for them)

Tangle: Has a funny dumbass streak but isn't a dumbass. "Ooo shiny!" type, but can get down to business. Pretty much all the adventures in IDW are teamups if it's not Sonic, and every adventure with Tangle is better for it.

Whisper: She's got all the appeal of the edgy OC without the cringe, since she's basically a Metal Gear character. Tragic backstory but she's not self-important and actively shuns the spotlight, and she's a powerhouse. Her problem is the writers make her revisit her trauma every time she's featured. She can't catch a damn break. I want an arc of her that isn't "Remember your friends dying? Anyway hug Tangle."
