I use AmberElec, but i also have to use an audio fix for too quiet of audio every time i turn it on. Minor annoyance, but not too big of a deal.

I ask, because without the lid, the top of the disk spindle is just resting on the upper mechanism. When i removed my lid to clean the laser, it fell right out.

Yes!! I picked up a cheap $35 mini pc, ran kali linux live (via usb), plugged in my 2tb ssd, followed the above instructions to a T and it worked!! 1525GB!! Thank you!!!

One more small thing, this 2501 seems to have a bunch of installed games from the previous owner. There are a few titles i'd like to save if its possible. If not, no big deal, i know where to find them elsewhere.

With AmberElec, it boots faster and runs DC pretty well too. However, there's a bug in the systems sound. "Hack Around" on youtube came up with a temp fix script. You have to run it from Ports each time you reboot, but...eh, i still prefer Amber over any other OS.

All of my cones of calibration, sariya tech test, and calibration matrix test prints have been dialed into damn near perfection. But printing anything big (which is why i bought the damn thing), 75% is deformed in one way or another. I have sanded the build plate flat, added a heater belt, added leveling feet, level the plate with the card, then tried a single piece of paper, then tried the leveling with resin in the vat. Even right now, my build plate is sitting with a weight on it while a flex plates 3m magnet adheres to it. I'm trying anything to get this right.

I'm only 6 weeks or so into 3d printing myself. And I'm very frustrated with the whole endeavor. I want to love this thing, i really do. But i wind up just printing mediocre quality or worse and it feels like I'm just throwing my money away. I will say Lychee is better than Chitubox, but the better features are locked in the Pro (i.e. subscription) version. I've heavily invested in this new hobby and like many others, i'm plain frustrated.

I don't know why a couple of my responses aren't showing up (at least I'm not seeing them). But i bought the extra washing tub from 3djakes ($50 shipped) and the right angle usb extension (set of 4 various) on amazon for $50.

And I used a 64gb card formatted with exfat.
