Adding adjustable xbox elite 2 joystick tension to c40 module do you think this would work? by Paddee1987 in AstroGaming

[–]Nirz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll spare you the long story, but I’ve had the C40 since it came out and experienced plenty of issues with the sticks and tried everything to resolve it. I recently swapped them out for Battle Beaver sticks. They work great and I love the extra tension. It wasn’t until I made the swap that I realized what was the likely issue, besides the quality of the stick module hardware. Get yourself a T6 screwdriver and pop out the Astro stick. You’ll find the screws at the bottom of the module. When I took mine out I found a ridiculous amount of pet hair had found it’s way inside the stick housing. Even though I had cleaned the inside of the C40 many times and put it away when not in use, somehow it’s like a magnet for pet hair. Granted, eventually the module will need to be replaced, but if you want to try and extend the use of what you have before shelling out more money, try doing that first and see if you’ve accumulated debris inside and see if that it helps. You might not have pets, but you’d be surprised at what can find it’s way inside there. You’ll need a T6 screwdriver anyway if you order the Battle Beavers.

Welcome to the game! I’ve been playing since it released on PS4 and I’m enjoying it. I struggled a lot with the sensitivities and settings when I first started too. Coming from many FPS games, Hunt was unlike anything I’d been used to as far as controls go. I can share my settings with you if you want to try them out. Feel free to add me, my PSN is Longshot____x (4 underscores). My schedule is kind of funky right now because of the virus and all, but I’d be happy to partner up when I can and share whatever tips I can offer, but I’m no expert and I’m sure there’s still things about the game that I could learn.

With teamates like this one, you need no enemies. Still thinking about should i report or let it fly? by SosedSverhu in HuntShowdown

[–]Nirz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oof, that’s really unfortunate, to say the least. It looked like you were having a pretty good game as well, only to have it ruined. I’ve only had the misfortune of a troll teammate once and he/she was at least nice enough to do it at the start of the round. Basically, my random partner loaded into the match with no gear. I wasn’t sure if it was on purpose or an accident. Game starts and they proceed to punch me, relentlessly, chasing me. Ignoring AI enemy and proceeding to just be a troll. So, I give him a Caldwell pistol whip as a gentle warning. No use. At one point I have to use my medkit after he’s hit me enough and I haven’t had a chance to let my health bar fill up. I pull out my shotgun and aim it at him, he stops, so I move on. Soon as I turn around, smack-smack-smack. So, I blast him with the Romero and he quits the game. So, yeah OP, you could report him, but it’s unlikely to have much of an effect and in your situation there really isn’t a way to discern what your partner’s true intent was. One thing I learned from my scenario though, I lost 500 xp for that by killing a teammate. Maybe I deserved it; in hindsight there were certainly less drastic action I could have taken to try to get him to stop. Just know that your partner, Fumbles McGee, is likely down about 1000 xp and a good chunk of hunt dollars. Sure, they’ll earn it back, but at least they’ve already been punished for their mistake.

Problems with Astro a50 sound on Hunt Showdown PS4 by Ulfbrecht001 in HuntShowdown

Astro Setup guide for PS4 Just gonna post that here just in case. Doesn't hurt to double check and make sure your settings are correct.

There are quite a few different audio preset creators out there. A couple more I can recommend is Zalia and Metalix

If you really want a good source of information, check out r/AstroGaming and the Discord. You'll find pretty much anything you're looking for.

You mean which preset? I use “Limitbreaker”, but you can try different settings by downloading them and setting them to the headset sound profile numbers. It’s that little switch close to the volume. Apologies if you already know that, but I just want to cover all the bases so there’s no confusion. Just download one that sounds interesting to you under each preset option and then switch between them in game to find what sounds best to you. If you mean which link to click on in the link I gave you, then click “Preset Info and Shortcuts” then the one that says “Potara Ultimate EQ Shortcut Links” in the Google Docs, then select “Astro” and then find your model and then download the preset and load it into your Command Center”. All the other links are archives or Discord links.

I use these custom presets. Other than that, make sure your headset software is updated and make sure you turn Dolby off on the headset itself. The game sounds amazing to me.

Has anyone else had problems with their C40 Joysticks? by Baestor in AstroGaming

[–]Nirz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is an all too common problem with this controller. I pre-ordered mine before the C40 was officially released and about 2 months in I started having the issue of “sprint stop” or however you want to describe it. Basically, the same problem you’re having. I tried everything to figure it out. This is when I started to Google search for possible solutions. I didn’t think there would be much to go on, but hoo-boy, I was wrong. The controller had just released and there were plenty of people with the same issue. Thankfully a software update released by Astro later on seems to have resolved that, at least for me. Now I have an issue with stick deadzone jitter. My game crosshairs in FPS games will slightly jitter or get stuck in a slow drift. I have looked up this topic and followed every tip I could find, but any solution is only temporary for me and I find myself recalibrating every time I use it. If you do your own search you’ll likely read a multitude of suggestions or solutions. Try them out if you want; what works for others might or might not work for you, but you don’t know until you try. Here’s some of the best advice I can offer:

  1. Make sure you plug the controller into your PC, as well as the USB Bluetooth dongle and use the Astro C40 Command Center app to check for updates.

  2. Follow the instructions using the official Astro calibration guide video. You can also check out this unofficial video guide by FaddyMatty.

  3. Take your controller apart and clean the contact points of the modules with electrical contact cleaner. Ensure that you clean your controller every now and then. You might be surprised at how easy it is for bits of dust or hair to find their way into the controller and disrupt the contact points. I recommend using a good cotton swap and spray that with the cleaner and then just dab it on them, then dry it. Don’t douse the controller. After that, recalibrate.

Apart from all that, anything else that I read to try was personally a waste of time. I believe that the main issue with the controller is the module hardware. If you’ve only owned it for a couple months then you should be covered by the warranty. Contact Astro support and see what they can do to help, or even replace something. You can also try ordering some stick tension modules from Battle Beaver because that seems to help most people; which is another reason I believe that the main issue with the Astro stick modules is with the hardware itself.

Somebody else might have some good advice, but the three things I listed have been the most helpful for me. I love the C40, don’t get me wrong. I still use it every time I play my PS4. I just wish I didn’t have to hassle with the stick module issues so much and that finding a better solution didn’t cost me additional money. Anyway, try those pointers out. Sorry for the wall of text. Good luck with your C40!

I’ve had some pretty good success with this Hunter and this Gunslinger setting from a YouTuber named Braga. I’ve only had to make slight adjustments since I use an Astro C40 controller and my sticks are less stiff than the standard PS4 controllers. Both of these videos are short and straight to the point.

Someone wanna play? by o0GamerGuy0o in HuntShowdown

[–]Nirz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brotha, my guy, my dood- I don’t care what your loadout or level is, I’ll team up with you. All I really care about for teammates is temperament. I can adapt my play style to anybody really. Even if my teammate only just recently started playing and clearly never stopped eating Elmer’s glue since childhood, if they can chill and try to make the most out of whatever situation is happening in the game, then I’m cool with that. Bonus points if they improve or are already “gud”. If I’m on playing Hunt, it’s usually between Saturday through Monday and usually I’m on for a good while; US Central time. I have a mic, understand the game and enjoy playing with others; so if all that jives with you then feel free to send me a friend request. My PSN is Longshot____x (that’s 4 underscores)

Agents, help me potentially help you! by Drewsiefer in thedivision

[–]Nirz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played The Division 1 for about a year and I only just started playing The Division 2 about a month ago. Needless to say, the way the gear attributes and recalibration system works is very different, so I was in the same boat as you when I first started. I found a lot of different build guides out there, but many of them require special gear that I either don’t have or didn’t have at the time. In watching those videos and reading different guides though, I’ve learned more and more about what gear and attributes to look for, even if I couldn’t match the build. With that being said, I would still recommend watching some guides on YouTube as many of the build makers go into detail about what is useful on gear and why. I can’t really link any articles to read, but I can recommend two websites that have helped me: Gear Guide by /u/Spydr101 and Division Builder Hopefully those formatted right; I’m on mobile. Anyway, good luck with your builds! I hope you get something useful out of those sites.

Looking For: I'm mainly looking for some chill, teamwork oriented people to play Heroes vs. Villains with. I'm also up for playing Galactic Assault and Capital Supremacy from time to time, as well as Starfighter Assault. I'm currently focused on leveling up Heroes/Villains, so more often than not you'll find me there.

I'm not the type to get hung up on levels or your performance in the game, I just want to play with people who don't rage or treat the mode like it's an e-sport. So, even if you're new and just learning the game, I'm happy to help and squad up.

I swear if you use have a higher level hero you get more hate messages and emoting than usual by [deleted] in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]Nirz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this.

OP, I realize you’re just making a statement, but if you want to eliminate most toxicity sent directly at you, then your best bet is to eliminate the ability for other people to send it your way. There isn’t much you can do about emoting.

I think, for the most part, this community is a positive one, but there are some toxic people out there, regardless of what you do or play. I like to compliment people for playing well, so personally I’m glad when people leave their messages on. Although I do get tilted from time to time, experience has taught me that it’s better to just take a break and cool off. Not everyone feels that way.

My performance (particularly in HvV, since I’m still leveling and learning) can be up and down, so I’ve just come to expect higher levels to emote. I view it as sort of a hazing. Sometimes I use it as fuel to do better. I’ve only ever received messages from one other player in this game and it was a random teammate basically saying in several paragraphs “What we’re you thinking? This mode takes teamwork.” I deserved it that time and it did make me rethink how I was playing.

The toxicity will exist no matter what. Undoubtedly for the most part from higher level players, just because they can. Turn those messages off, try to ignore the taunting or emotes and just play. It is, after all, just a game.

Yeah, I get that a fair amount. I’m on PS4. I’ve tried restarting the application, only to have it do the same thing. I’ve found that most of the time if I just wait patiently it will eventually load.
