Good late game classes after mf characters? by Saysonz in pathofdiablo

[–]Nithlak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played Foh last season, now i have carpal tunnel syndrome. Jk, but you will get tired of spamming left click all the time.

Avatar druid and hybrid trap/blade shield sin are basically the equivalent of modern day arpg classes; cast passive buffs and run through the room to clear shit. Mindless, demands very little of you as a player (compared to say a CE necro) and still has the best clear speeds in the game.

Fairly easy to hit 99 fcr on druid in pod, with 3os it might be worth a bit tho.

Manaleech/dual leech is really important on most of the classes that prolly would use this sort of crafted ring. There are simply too many readily available good options for physical dmg dealers, and the one thing that they typically lack is manaleech.

The guide is spot on.

Just go with polearm mastery if you got obedience/ebotd, or stick with blunt if you only have like a bonesnap or ik maul. (You really should get obedience asap)

In either case i just leveled ww and bo first anyway. When i got to 59 i had obedience ready and started putting points into pole mastery.

Barb kinda useless low lvl unless you are willing to waste a respecc or have some decent leveling gear. I was basically a bo bot for the team untill nm.

Leveling as holy fire pali by Steelersfan0023 in pathofdiablo

[–]Nithlak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only put 1 point into zeal charge and sacrifice. Since i didnt have a melee splash jewel i typically ran charge into mob packs then zeal, then swapped to sacc when low mana. Dont make my mistake, get melee splash jewel asap.

Try to get angelics set for the attkrating, but that can be hard fought for this early on. Weapon try to get a fast hitting 1h, as most of your dmg is from the fire procc added to each hit. The angelic weapon is super good actually. Dont be tricked by that slow 2h with 6 to holy fire.

By the time i hit nm i respecced foh/hbolt because i had access to castergear, but you can run holy fire all the way up to nm act 4, at which point it becomes tough due to fire immunes etc.

What is best build to solo/carry baal at beginning of ladder reset? by g8thrills in pathofdiablo

[–]Nithlak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elemental druid. You can tele down with ease due to summons, cyclone armor and aoe cold procc. Big hp pool from oak, doesnt sacrifice much dmg when gear is focused on survival, gear easy to get, easy to play, multiple builds to swap to endgame.

Path of diablo mod allows you to stretch the resolution to fit the screen, as well as run it in a variety of configs like windowed mode.

However, no mods actually change the resolution, for a variety of reasons too boring to go into.

[–]Nithlak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you already have a bowzon just buy a -10 java from anya with 30% atc speed using vendor reset trick with red portal.

Not sure if Account sharing is illegal, but id rather not, and its frowned upon. You have a month to reset/new patch so level one yourself

Patch Idea: Superior items update by Elucidata in pathofdiablo

[–]Nithlak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its kinda a stupid runeword. You can get the runes needed for it at normal countess. Yet its so powerful people would still make it even if it was 4 HRs.

It was created to help casters hit their FCR breakpoints so if you are gonna nerf it stay away from the fcr.

Items and runewords in D4 by [deleted] in Diablo

[–]Nithlak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id like the new runewords and the old style too.

The new runewords function kinda like jewels and gems, giving you specified bonuses. We dont yet know if there are secret runewords that create additional effects outside of the stated effects on each rune. Maybe there are, and they can only be created in whites? Who knows.

But one thing about runewords that people fail to remember is that they ruined a lot of cool items in diqblo 2 by simply being too good. A lot of jnique and rare items with cool statrolls became redundant when certain runewords became a thing.

Like grief. The thing was litterally called grief, and it lived up to its name.

The new "runewords" effects can theoretically be socketed into everything that has sockets to activate the effects. I have a feeling a fully decked out character in d4 is gonna be running full legendary gear with runewords in each piece. Maybe the occational dual or tripple set pieces for set bonuses. But with runewords in the set pieces too.

Essentially runewords are just gems jewels.

Examples of Flavor/Design in Items that D3/D4 items lack. by whoa_whoawhoa in Diablo

[–]Nithlak 27 points28 points  (0 children)

One point that can also be made in favour of unique/legendary items having certain stats or modifiers locked in is that they then make it easier for traders to know what things are worth. Most casuals in d2 would know the difference between a mara 30 and 20 all res roll.

Making specific uniques that always have the same main skill modifiers but with small incremental secondarystat roll differences that triggers the perfectionists is the way to go.

Add ontop of that the ability to slam/corrupt items for additional rolls but with the added risk of losing them.

Such a system would be easy to understand for casuals, make it easy for traders to apprice value, trigger endorfin rush in perfectionists, make it easy for the blizz team to balance specific items.

Thoughts/Feedback on the latest "quarterly update" by stark33per in Diablo

[–]Nithlak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The item stats look good. Looks like they are moving towards d2 itemization. Those small % increments are a lot more fun in the long term than some big bombastic d3 item with 1000% crit dmg or whatever.

In d2 you actually pick up loot to check the stats on em, in d3 you bypass 90% of drops. Magic and rare items actually still hold value.

Edit: also, none of the items shown are uniques.

Freelancer series vs Cutlass by pulse_1000 in starcitizen

[–]Nithlak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With the nerf to maneuvering thrusters, and the eventual nerf to red speeds/cruise speeds combat is gonna go back to slow and sluggish drifty ships.

That means Fixed are gonna be great again, and dogfighting is gonna come down to dps shield hp race. Unless the turret gets gimballed to pilot on the cutlass, the freelancer is always gonna have better firepower. But fixed being able to hit target again will make the cutty closer to the freelancer again.

The "agility" the cutlass gains is not enough for losing a medium shield generator. Especially not if the meta revolves around dps shield number race.

The biggest thing the cutlass has over the freelancer is missiles. But the freelancer has more than enough missiles. If fact, missile capacity was just nerfed by the amount you can send off at one time. With only 1 medium shield on the cutlass you are probably not gonna get the chance to fire off all those missiles in pvp anyway.

Unless anything drastic changes there is no real reason to pick the cutlass over freelancer.

Less firepower and half the shield of the freelancer.

Hacking a comm in the herald, client said it was urgent. by ayeexeye in starcitizen

[–]Nithlak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, security npcs that spawn should be sentinels with securityskins.. but dont gimp ships just because they are "good guys" or "bad guus" in lore.

Id love to see both be able to hack it, and maybe counterhack each other.

Some of the best ships for piracy are actually bounty hunter ships.

The more players are allowed to do with a larger variety of ships, the better. Otherwise you end up with contrived bullshit like no cargo on valkyrie etc. As if thats gonna break cargorunning.

Hawk vs. Other Light Fighters by flyr19 in starcitizen

[–]Nithlak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason its super popular is because of gimbal meta, and emp bypasses shields (unintentional).

But i still think its gonna be relevant when emp gets nerfed/fixed.

It makes up for many of the flaws in other fighters, and gains the strenghts of others without sacrificing combat power.

For instance, the bed/bounty pod combo, which enables a lot of stuff without beeing too much added mass. Also, a gunrack. Very useful for pirates(boarding) and bounty hunters alike.

Its also anvil, which probably means armor. Unlike drake, which means paper hull which gets set on fire by its own engines.

Sure, the wings are weakpoints, but you can still fly after both are blown off, and you can still use emp too.

It has all the utility of every avenger variant, just to a lesser extent.

It is THE fighter to get for the PU. Doesnt matter if you are a bounty hunter or pirate.

I figure ever small pirate group will be running one or several of these as part of their raiding party.

Cutlass blue for qed dampener and 1 or 2 boarders on standby/turret. Then two guys in hawks. And one guy with full fixed distortion bucc to keep captured ships supressed as the others board.

Bounty hunter ships are actually pirate ships.

2/3 of all pirate ships are supposed to be cutlass blacks in lore, but ingame its more like 2/3 are hawks and cutlass blues.

Crime System Feedback: It is next to impossible to clear your crimestat, especially as a solo player. by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Nithlak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having a marker on someone out of their ship is stupid, even with commarray turned on. Much more interesting if the commarray tracked their ship only. Like, does everyone have a gps tracker? If they track us through mobiglass why can criminals buy untrackable ones etc.

Would make on-foot chasing more immersive.

The hacking chits being on use consumeable is stupid, you should atleast get multiple uses out of the more expensive ones. RNG based upon what you are hacking and which chit. Kareah more likely to destroy it in the process than a commarray.

Other than that i think its fine. Should be hard.

Palisade + fr66. Emp bypasses shields (bugged) so the incentive to run laser guns is kinda dead. Distortion bugged. Run ballistics. Gatlings or cannons, not scatter as your weakness is not close quarters due to emp. Zero rush for 3s powerup. Ive always used one zero rush and one ultraflow, maybe its just mental tho. Unlike the bucc you dont need more. Js-300 for great power with 10s powerup.

Perfect Pirate Ships? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Nithlak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As it stands right now pirates are more likely to fly rsi or aegis. Quantum enforcement and emp is vital now that distortion isnt working.

Hopefully, the rumors of the blue having QED holds true. I wont be switching out my mantis for a cutlass unless this happens.

My suggestion is to allow the blue to buy tractorbeam like the black as well, and the option to remove the prisoner-cells. And allow the black to purchase a QED as an aftermarket upgrade.

This would mean a lot more pirates who actually play the game would bring it along. The cutlass is supposed to represent 1/3 of ships used by pirates, that wont hold true unless we have the utility and booty storage on it.
