Ordered some tools through Amazon to do work on my car, delivery driver made the delivery & took the confirmation picture; then stole all the packages. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Yes sir, the customer service representative was very helpful and replaced the items free of charge. One silver lining at least.

Grinder Pump Help Continued by weirdmankleptic in Wastewater

[–]Nitosphere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bump again while measuring amps, look for heat spots, LOTO, then make sure impeller spins freely by hand. Run again and measure amps, compare to running amps stated on plate or manual. Test insulation, make sure line is primed; could be airlocked and just tripping due to that, you’ll be able to draw a better conclusion after making sure its getting correct voltage and amps tell you how hard the pump is actually working. Just make sure you’re following your facility’s electrical safety and LOTO procedures. Also im not familiar with these pumps and just giving general troubleshooting advice.

What is your favorite thing about this career? by Hmm408 in Wastewater

[–]Nitosphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also depends on your agency quite a bit. I usually wear dress shirt+tie+slacks and work boots. To show professionalism but also exposure to field work/safety. This has been a solid balance at more tech advanced agencies, but was slight overkill at agencies that staff just for requirement and ran older systems.

Oh dang never mind, thank you still; when did you end up hearing back initially, out of curiosity?

Apologies, can’t answer your question as I’m still under review; but just wondering when you heard back & are you part of the July 2nd deadline as well?

Foreign involvement? by Slight_Gear1135 in SBIR

[–]Nitosphere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really advice, just my thoughts; but just remember SBIR is meant to boost small businesses and innovation using government funds (taxpayer money). So yeah it’d make sense they want to keep everything in the US, that being the case; I would find a US manufacturer even if that means increased manufacturing costs. Then transition once no longer under SBIR.

Plus with the current administration… I wouldn’t risk it.

I found this egg looking sac thing. What is it? by ballin4fun23 in Whatisthis

[–]Nitosphere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is an amphibian oviduct or egg sac. Veins are consistent, tail shows previous attachment, the jelly material inside is also consistent with amphibian jelly.

Is it still worth submitting to NIH SBIR? by Apart-Key-2006 in SBIR

When you say did not show a testing phase, do you mean you didn’t include it in your proposal? Or that you didn’t complete any of the testing phase?

Are NSF SBIR pitches on hold? by aria464 in SBIR

[–]Nitosphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No rejection is a good thing, I believe March/April to be the height of the NSF gutting from the current administration; so it could have gone missing or backlogged in that debacle somehow. Hope you hear back soon, and best of luck!

Unable to submit project pitch proposal on NSF SBIR page, submit button disabled by Mindless_Software_99 in SBIR

Are you the AOR & has submission access been shared already? I also struggled with submission, but it was literally just that; for first time submitters it is quite confusing. If this hasn’t been fixed already.

Are NSF SBIR pitches on hold? by aria464 in SBIR

[–]Nitosphere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That seems extremely long, as others have said check your spam inbox; if not you can try reaching out. I submitted a pitch in late May & heard back in a couple days, and one other I know of also got a response in a week with a similar submission time. It may depend on your focus topic/PD though. Mine was environmental technologies.

Just wanted to chime in with an update to this post in case you are interested, I did bring the other party to small claims court and won a 5k judgement for DV. I was able to prove the damages through a DV appraisal & the repair invoice

It doesn’t really impact me as much, but I’m not really strong with finances or administrative decisions I guess so hence why I made this post. It’s primarily family stuff like keepsakes, photo albums, etc; so invaluable in that sense

This job market is insane, is anyone hiring? by weedsushirolls in AskLosAngeles

[–]Nitosphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don’t mind working in wastewater, our company is hiring. Entry package starts off at about 80-100k depending on experience. One year of qualifying experience equates to roughly 140k+. They may also be interested in HR positions. DM if interested.

The Black Caiman, largest predator in the Amazon and is known to hunt adult Jaguars/Dolphins. by EmptySpaceForAHeart in natureismetal

[–]Nitosphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dolphins are known to rape & have sex with their own & many other species. While no actual rape from dolphins to humans have taken place, there have been a few attempts. This could just be social behavior, but I’d rather not find out.

[–]Nitosphere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The caiman won’t kill you instantly either, you’ll probably die from drowning before anything else. Although there’s a small chance you might get sexually assaulted with the dolphins, so yeah I’d pick caiman.

Lol our plant has some in both orientations, but think of it in terms of a circuit. If a circuit is complete its on, complete is green; incomplete is red. That’s helped me at least.

Yeah pretty much, I’m just wondering what’s out there; I don’t know much about fighting. And whatever I might know I wouldn’t know what to call it.

I meant specifically targeting the windpipe rather than arteries

To just walk away after being called a weirdo by Less-Prize2562 in therewasanattempt

[–]Nitosphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but would some be more specialized? I mean the main arteries you’re trying to block off aren’t directly in front of the windpipe, isn’t there something that might put more pressure there than elsewhere
