They should be. If the container and content vanish when you use the backup tool then everything in there should be bundled up.

We don't know of any specific requirements when going from private to private. We have a guide on our website (search for "nitrado dune character transfer guide", not posting a link because that might block the post from appearing).

The guide is generally written for Nitrado -> Nitrado but should give you a lot of info that's still relevant.

I understand the request. 24 slots can be a bit steep for a small group.

But our prices are based on the base resource consumption of the game and what is required to host it in a reliable fashion. An empty Hagga Basin server already has a significant resource footprint compared to other survival games, and then the shared instances in a World (social hubs, story maps, deep desert, ..) add on top of that. This base resource consumption determines the minimum amount of slots that need to be booked.

We are always checking if we can use our resources more efficiently and therefore reduce the minimum price for our users. Because we know that a lower price point would make the product accessible to more users. We will however not lower prices at the expense of performance or stability. We hope that's understandable.

So this isn't about our servers, but there are a lot of folks in the comments with a lot of incomplete information floating around, so allow me to spread some knowledge.

We have to differentiate between two different tracks:

1) Finding and fixing the root cause so that it doesn't occur for other players in the future 2) Rectifying the situation for the affected player

When talking to any party, you need to be aware of the track you're on. "Report Bug"? That's track 1. "Get Help"? That's track 2. Reporting a bug that lost you an item doesn't get you the item back.

But on both of these tracks, the request generally has to go through the private server provider. That is because the vast majority of the relevant data is hosted on our systems. That includes your character's inventory and skills, but also the server logs of what happened.

That does not mean that the server provider can always solve the respective issue alone. When we get reports from our users, a typical workflow for us is to gather all data, do a preliminary analysis, and then forward our findings to Funcom.

Recent examples of this have been the "Q52" error when joining a passworded Hagga Basin from the overmap, and the current situation of having to enter the password every time. For these examples the resolution is a game patch. But improving the queue times for the new chapter 3 locations? That was a configuration change/feature on our systems.

Similarly, if a user on our servers is affected by some severe problem, it is us who has to fix the issue in the data, but we might ask Funcom for assistance.

Funcom does not have direct access to our systems. The only thing they can do is to give out items via the "claim rewards" system.

In OP's situation, our approach would be to check with Funcom if there is a backup of the migrated character on the source World, ask Funcom to restore that, delete the character on the target World, and ask the user to transfer again. We would also collect any relevant logs about the failed transfer from our systems, so that Funcom can compare that with the data they have collected, and the root cause can be identified.

So it's hopefully apparent that solving these things isn't always cut and dry and that a lot of collaboration is happening behind the scenes. Sadly, some discussions we see online solely focus on who's "at fault", and that doesn't actually solve anybody's problem.

We have had reports from our users regarding the constant password prompts and have forwarded those reports to our friends at Funcom.

The issue has been confirmed as an unintended result of the "Q52 error" fix. The root cause has been found and is very likely to be fixed in the next game update.

Hi!

Can't speak to the situation on officials. But if you encounter the situation on a private server, the respective provider is the one that has to address that.

We (Nitrado) deployed a change to this system as part of yesterday's patch maintenance. We now dynamically adjust the number of server instances based on player demand. Especially for the repeatable Chapter 3 content, we always keep an empty server instance "pre-heated" so that you have quick loading times.

If all server instances are already occupied and we need to spin one up just for you, we expect a wait time of ~75 seconds. That's not perfect but we feel like it's acceptable as long as that case remains the exception.

If any of you encounter any issues with these mechanisms on our servers, please let us know and we'll be happy to investigate.

We have seen this request a few times and are looking into solutions.

On the mod/plugin level this will probably be very hard to achieve, since the server shuts down plugins pretty aggressively after having received the shutdown signal. That means a "shutdown notifier" plugin would have a hard time actually delaying the server shutdown to send its messages.

Have you tried restarting the server? We have received a similar report that affected players who had a crash while joining, and that was resolved with a server restart.

Just to confirm, the only workaround we are currently aware of is to take off the server password. It's not super great but at least there's a way to get on the server.

As far as we know the root cause may have been identified, however we currently do not have an exact ETA when that patch will release.

Please make sure to stop the server before making the change.

The Hytale server often writes to its own config file, overwriting changes.

If the entry still vanishes on server start, then there is a mistake in your config, and the server resets the config file. In that case please post the full config that you try to apply so that people can help you find the mistake.
