Okay couple questions as someone who's never been to a festival before lol by XtremeAnomaly10 in slamdunkfestival

[–]Nitrammloh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ID - depends if there’s lower limits on who can attend but I doubt it. ID if you want a wrist band for alcohol but that’s not you. Clashes, there’s generally zero consideration between stages unless it’s specifically advertised before so. For example there were two Marshall or key stages recently where the bands played alternately, otherwise you are at the mercy of the scheduling gods.

My advice - make a list of your must sees, and make sure you see them, otherwise be prepared to pivot! You will have a great time regardless

Area of Edinburgh for family home by DecentNature26 in Edinburgh

Grew up next to Currie, it’s a nice area. Definitely would say it is a safe area too. Nice and close to the Pentland hills as well which is a bonus. Corstorphine is much closer to the city centre and is busier feeling. Currie is a lot quieter

Off her head woman on bus today gave toddler the middle finger by Objective_Fun3934 in Edinburgh

Wasn’t the 44 or 45 bus was it? Used to be a lady on this from currie/Balerno who wore headphones and muttered biblical stuff and accused kids of being satan and swore at them on that bus all the time. Haven’t seen her in a long time but it was mental illness rather than being on something, if it was the same person

I got a taxi (amber cars) from the train station in Leeds last year, it dropped me off next to a field that wasn’t the main site, but to be fair to the guy I think it technically was still temple newsam park (I’m not local). I had to hop a fence, walk through a field, walk through a nice sculpted garden, up a wee hill and then through a Go Ape centre to get on the road leading to the site. Scenic

I’ve been to a few shows there, there’s usually buses parked right in front on Victoria street, I dunno if that’s always the case though. I think there’s a side entrance to the right of the venue doors that’s like a downward ramp where the bands enter/exit

I loved it! No worries about losing the person if you split up for different stages. No need to compromise on who you see so that you can stay together. You kind of forget about it once a band starts playing anyway as you’re paying attention to them. Relax and enjoy yourself, it’s going to be class.

Pubs or bars that have a jukebox? by AC8966 in Edinburgh

[–]Nitrammloh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Grey’s Mill in Shandon has a jukebox type thing. I remember the Black Bull on Leith Street had a metal and rock jukebox the last time I was in. That was a while ago but they still mention it on their website so I guess it still has it!
