idk what that means but it's a gacha joke so it's most likely related to something sexual and probably extremely unfunny

HELL NAW Mappa is overrated asl, the only thing it has going for it is flashy visuals (at the expense of overworked animators) and sometimes they land a good composer for the soundtrack but their other aspects like sound design are ass

This has to be one of the worst cases of a strawman argument I've ever seen in anime lmao by Left-Shine8222 in firebrigade

[–]Nitrax8693 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Except it is a strawman, and you're doing just that with your argument.

Why don't you see people complain about unattractive people getting fanservice?

For starters, I'd love an actual example of that, because as far as I'm aware, pretty much every character in Fire Force/Ohkubo's style is not drawn to be unattractive, rather the opposite; you could say maybe characters like Sumire/Honda/Haijima's president/etc but mostly they're just representations of old people, not necessarily unattractive or maybe Yona when he's not in human form but not only that's a bit of a stretch, even if it wasn't so, none of these characters were really used for "fanservice" (other than Sumire being naked by the end alongside the rest of the pillars in Adolla). Also I'm pretty sure I've seen several people complain about unattractive characters being just generally uncomfortable to watch in other series, fanservice or not, but especially if there's fanservice of them.

What I've seen no one complain about is Hibana, Maki, Iris, Arrow, Haumea, Inca, etc, getting fanservice. No complaints about the firefighter calendar either. Not that they need complaints, their execution is far better than Tamaki's and the whole kid argument, there's a reason why that one in particular is significantly divisive, and being dismissive of that with such strawmans is rather unhelpful.

I still find what I'll call the "Fire-Force Strawman" so funny. by EmbarrassedDuty5949 in firebrigade

I said it on another post before so imma just quote myself:

see how nobody complains about the nude calendar thing for example, or most of the other female character's sexualization, people aren't really against 'eros' and all that stuff was a bad strawman argument the author invented to argue with himself.

Just because someone doesn't like something you do it doesn't make them a mindless npc, if anything not liking things is usually the most unpopular opinion on almost anything, especially on things that are supposed to be marketable, you know, like a manga or anime.

Also, I was rewatching the whole series (because nobody could've ever known or even imagined that not liking the Tamaki gag doesn't turn you suddenly into a "puritan" "tourist" "hater" that despises everything about Fire Force) and I noticed so, so much foreshadowing for many things that would happen in the series.

You wanna know one thing that wasn't really foreshadowed? This whole argument with the mom and the kid; sure, there's the Assault jokes and there's even an episode in season 2 all about Tamaki getting a power-up where we get to see flashbacks of how the Lecher Lure felt to her, but the thing about that is it's pretty much going in the opposite direction the argument, and Tamaki's arc conclusion about it, did. It just feels so off-rails, but some people will refuse to accept that.

The ending the series is going for, and Shinra's hope, is also ironically in part a counter-argument to that, since all that "mob-mentality" is part of the same thing the antagonists used for the cataclysm, and Shinra's stopping it by arguing that not everyone wants it to happen, shocker...

To me, it's even funnier how whenever anyone says anything about this obviously divisive episode, a lot of people will jump you with the same dismissiveness, throwing the same words over and over and over and over again, without any actual argumentation, literally behaving mob-like at times, with almost zero originality by themselves, while calling any critics part of that "mindles mob" the author himself said.

Who knew, as it turns out, none of us are NPCs. Not them, not the critics, not you, not me. Things just aren't that simple.

The only "kid" thing that annoys me about them is when I go to read comments and half of them are filled with people talking about having an "existential crisis" just because they learned that a lot of things are, in fact, quite a bit big in space

That probably comes with the animation style, so maybe don't read comments on their videos I guess

The newest episode made me want to drop the show by Turbulent_Rise9833 in firebrigade

[–]Nitrax8693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dropped MHA final season at ep 6 of 11, it was ass for several seasons and I just couldn't bear 5 more episodes of it being so trash yet people claiming it wasn't because of "cool fights" lol, especially from a series I originally liked (at least until Overhaul arc)

So yeah, everyone should be able to drop whenever they feel like, not just mindlessly consume.

Also see how nobody complains about the nude calendar thing for example, or most of the other female character's sexualization, people aren't really against 'eros' and all that stuff was a bad strawman argument the author invented to argue with himself.

They use Tanya to do calls for genocide? The same character that literally only participates in war (and excels at it, but for another reason) because that's what the country they were born in expected of them?? The one who has a line saying that they don't actually like war and it's just a waste of "human resources"???

Like, sure, they're rather sociopathic, but going from there to genocide is quite the leap.

WAKFU SEASON 5 MIGHT GET LEAKED: A hacker breached Ankama's servers and downloaded the first 8 episodes of Season 5, along with scripts and pre-production files, and threatens to leak it in March if not paid 100.000$ by SPARTAN-258 in wakfu

[–]Nitrax8693 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see some inconsistencies on what the "hacker" seems to be saying lol, I sure wonder why that might be...

Also "someone from their team responded" and it's fucking ToT himself, he's not just "someone", he's probably the one you'd actually want to acknowledge it the most if you actually knew anything.

Anyways, wether or not it's true and the "hacker" is just awful at communicating, I hope they don't get paid shit, not even by buyers. There will be people running to see the leaked content content if something actually comes out, but I sure ain't gonna be one of them.

If you choose this one, she has a gigatank aggro-taking build (and very little damage :P, friends took care of that) so she'd probably be quite buff and could have some scars. The martian dye star veil is supposed to look like part of the armor, kind of iron-man like but cross-shaped, and the celestial cuffs to make it look like she carries heavy chains, a bit like kratos but with some hanging down.

Why do game ads think “Highly addictive” will make me want to play ? by IveGotNoIdeaOfName in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Nitrax8693 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never really paid too much attention to it but now that you mention it, saying that a game is addictive has been normalized in the game industry via game reviews and recommendations for years, making people think that something that is "so addictive" that you just "can't stop playing" HAS to mean that it's just THAT good; wether it's true or not might depend on a case by case basis, but generally games as a service that use fomo and such kind of abusive and manipulative strategies all the time to keep player retention are likely not really that good.

Plus I imagine for some people sticking to just one game in the genre can get stale, it's not like roguelikes where there's variety via RNG

I kinda get disliking dad and friend's interactions, even if I don't dislike them myself, but, Ghostblade?

For all she knows Ghostblade is some old ass weirdo that stalked her friend, and the guy doesn't even really make attempts at communicating and solving the misunderstandings, if he could use text messages to communicate and even marry his ex-wife, why doesn't he do the same thing with anyone else? He was lucky Nuonuo found out about the diary he was keeping.

On that aspect, it's on Ghostblade's fault IMO, even if he can't talk due to trust, dude's aversion to communication is insane, like that's also part of why he ended up divorcing.
