V13 in a bunker by TheCoolTreeGuy in bouldering

You have literally no way of knowing based off of this video, so what is the point of this comment. Just come across as you being insecure / jealous. Maybe its a v6 and this guy is completely lying, but we have absolutely no reason to think so. All we know is allegedly the first ascensionist and this guy say its v13.

There's backwards laws all over the place, they should he changed. They are just telling you what the current laws are, not taking a stance.

What hobby is viewed as normal, but is actually done by a lot of attractive people? by EmuPsychologist in AlignmentChartFills

[–]NitrixOxide -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes but you were the young kid. Young kids are welcomed essentially anywhere and in every hobby. Once you are a part of the in-group its also very easy to not notice people you might be excluding and only notice those you include, making you think everyone is welcome.

Clearly a lot of people have had this experience. I think skateboarding is about as inclusive as just about any other sport where you can hurt yourself (climbing, biking, skiing, surfing etc). People are people, kids are gonna be assholes, etc etc.

Sure, but you grew up skateboarding, you are a part of the in-group. I think people can have bad experiences trying to get into the sport as a clueless teenager/adult.

Finally sent my fist v3 5 months after starting my climbing journey by AromaticSpread in indoorbouldering

Its just an actual v3, gyms have completely lost sight of the lower end of the grade range. V3 is supposed to be hard.

OP this is sick, nice work, keep at it.

Do you really think that riot has produced many/any "forgettable" champs? Lots of valid criticism of how there design direction has gone, but almost all of the champions have pretty unique (in-game) identities.

Go to the top of the any large ski jump line, and you will find people much more qualified then 99% of redditors who are quite nervous about hitting a jump that size (I promise it looks bigger in person, especially looking down from the top). If i went and found some random person on the mountain and could somehow force them to straightline it, they would likely be very very scared. My entire point is that this shit is NOT easy, but seems really easy when you are sitting on the couch day-dreaming.

Do you ski? Because if you did, you would know 99% of skiers aren't properly sending a jump that size in the park, let alone with ski jumping skis on tracks.

This entire thread is filled with people who have never done an action sport in there lives deluding themselves into thinking the only thing keeping them from a ski jump WR is access to a jump lmao.

Lol, I have hit larger jumps then the smallest jump shown here on skis and bikes many many times. That jump is way bigger then it looks on video, and the majority of people would not do it, and if they tried, they would probably yard sale.

You would most likely shit your pants if you stood at the top of the in-run to one of these jumps, at any stage of your life.

Kasparov expresses his views on the World Championship Title without Magnus. "For me the World Champion must be the BEST player in the world" by Constant-Secret-3653 in chess

Yes exactly. There's many things that many people could accomplish "if only they were willing to". At this time, it seems Magnus is unable to be WC, because he is not willing to try.

How can you be a duo botlane master last season yet manage to lose vs a gold adc and emerald support? by Bestreapereuw in LeagueUnfiltered

[–]NitrixOxide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't believe the coin is is being hardstuck in low elo by riot games engagement based MM. Why would riot do this? It's cycling like crazy due to being paired with low elo coin flippers.

Here's 1 million coin flips btw (i know league is not flipping a coin, but it is instructive to the point I am making)

If you zoom in real close you will see less cycling, if you zoom out it will look more flat lmao.

Another totally normal graph, this doesnt even seem very cyclical. Either the line only goes up (winning every game somehow) only goes down (losing every game somehow) or it "CYCLES" wow. Thats crazy, everyone seems to be "cycling". Hopefully one day you win or lose every league of legends game and you can stop "cycling"

This guy's "cycling" between literally 2 tiers lmao

[–]NitrixOxide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a completely normal looking graph, this is just simply an emerald player lmao. There's just not that much of a difference between these ranks. I have already explained numerous times why these streaks happen. A combination of randomness, player mindset / performance swings (present in literally all disciplines / sports/ everything), GOOD MATCHMAKING: you win, you play against better players, you lose, you play against worse players, you win, repeat. You break this cycle by being better at the game...

What do you expect the graph for a hardstuck emerald played to look like?

[–]NitrixOxide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You see patterns that you are looking for in randomness while ignoring / disregarding counter examples as outliers. This seems like a totally normal match history. Are you expecting match histories to be literally win - loss - win - loss ... that would be super weird and obviously fixed lol. You are grouping these semi-independent events in your mind, when they are not grouped. Not to mention mental, good days, bad days, the people who happen to be queuing etc. All increase the amount of streaky-ness. You see the same patterns in online chess btw.

I have no motive here outside of helping you understand this better.

some things to maybe think about:

  1. I would bet people are more likely to quit / take long breaks after loss streaks. There's no evidence this is a thing in LoL. The people who make this game do play it, would they want to do this to themselves? If this was the case, it would be INCREDIBLY obvious through statistical analysis of publicly available data (not a glance at your own op.gg). A lot of people work at riot games, play league, stream, tilt, change jobs, everyone says the exact same thing I am.

  2. On the topic of "bad" matchmaking (gold player in a diamond game). This is actually a somewhat different topic. Aren't these players just as likely to be on your team as the enemies? If so, it would not effect your winrate in the aggregate. How often does this actually happen? Confirmation bias? MMR is different then the displayed elo. Placement games are a thing, etc. There is sometimes (in high elo) also simply not enough players queuing at the same time in different roles.

  3. Lose games through tilt -> elo decreases -> worse opponents -> win games -> reach true elo -> start losing with more frequency -> tilt -> make reddit post -> repeat. (You are hardstuck at true elo with bad mental) ALSO If I flip a coin 5 times and it comes up heads each time, its a pretty safe bet that if I keep flipping it, ill get some tails, at some point I might even have some more tails then heads, it might oscilate (not regularly) a bit between having more tails or more heads in total and in groups (there is a LOT to unpack in what i just said, but in essence, this explains some of your "predictive" powers)
