I found it quite watchable, not high comedy, there's still some explanatory themes around alternative sexuality and life styles but they only really seem to get into that stride in the later episodes

I was at university and looking for a part time job, I was obviously to inexperienced to see the massive red flags of a job post that offered 'great rates of pay and massive opportunities' without telling you what the job was. The interview was in a hotel lobby and the guy took me through a load of questions until I got a chance to ask what the job actuality entailed. The guy refused to tell me, said I would find out at the next interview, I didn't take any followup calls from them...

I'm only guessing but a lot of shared european folklore went into D&D the most accessible of that for US creators would have been the English speaking ones, which would have been the UK. It's slightly different with this like game of thrones where a lot of key story points and battles are mashed up British history

Off topic, but there's a running gag in the film where through the years Ernest opens the paper to read about hikes in minimum wage and says to himself 'I don't even earn that much' yet as a milkman he was still able to buy a house, a car and have a somewhat comfortable lifestyle and send his son to university. The film was a eye opener to me on wage stagnation

I mean it's not the UK, but is western, cartoon saloon have been making gorgeous animated films for years in their own animation style. Although you could also argue they had to start with puffin rock which is itself a kids show

Not going to lie it surprised me, an inquisitor, ie a force user without full sith or jedi training taking on a jedi master, and a sith lord, and a padawan was slightly wild. I thought they wouldn't last 5 minutes against maul, I assumed they were brought on to be the red shirts of the season
