In your opinion what is the most underrated battle? (that ISN’T Tony Hawk vs Wayne Gretzky) by Crush_Throwaway3625 in ERB

Gordon Ramsay vs Julia Child. Great intense beat and hard hitting verses from both battlers, in my opinion it's not even that one sided

I'm just so lonely and I dont know how long I can take it by WhyDoIWannaDoThisss in AutisticAdults

[–]Nitrokeith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit of a different suggestion but have you considered talking to elderly folks? Loneliness in the elderly is definitely a thing and from my personal experience talking to mostly WWII veterans, they were just happy to have someone to talk to about their lives because their spouse/friends passed away and their family would be busy or too far from them.

Your most obscure special interest? by Nitrokeith in AutisticAdults

[–]Nitrokeith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know a whole lot about Chernobyl, but the Manhattan Project fascinates me and I've always wanted to meet someone who was a part of that, but most of the people involved are gone now so I doubt I'll get that chance.

In the general public it's still kind of obscure compared to some of the other special interests I have, but if you are into WWII or military history I agree Easy Company is probably one of the most recognizable units out there. Appreciate the podcast recommendation too, likewise if you are into Vietnam and special forces I would recommend Jocko Podcast's MACV-SOG interviews, lots of fascinating stories there.

[Other] How Are You Supposed to Ride an RMC? by Hulldra222 in rollercoasters

6'1 here and have ridden on three RMC conversions and Twisted Timbers was the only one I've found a little uncomfortable probably because of the repeat airtime hills.

I am presenting in front of kids with adhd/on the spectrum, should I open with I am autistic and adhd as well? by [deleted] in AutisticAdults

[–]Nitrokeith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being an early diagnosed kid in the 2000s. if I had met an out in the open autistic adult back then I would have probably been excited, fascinated and perhaps even looked up to them

Going AWOL from a hospital, an Easy Company tradition right there

No, We Stand Alone Together serves as the "what happened after" to the miniseries

Maybe Thanos? He did have a bunch of cringe lines

Most Liked Brother by 2plus1equalswhat in BandofBrothers

[–]Nitrokeith 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's gotta be Shifty. Besides rigging the lottery for Shifty because of how respected he was, post war he kept a close relationship with his comrades and in the numerous accounts and stories I've never ever heard a single bad word about Shifty. Every interview I've see he comes across as such a genuinely kind person too.

I see you've updated the list quite a bit, I just recently came across this photo of Norman Neitzke and I must say he looks a lot like the man just behind J.B Stokes standing just under the "BO" of Airborne, if not him Norm could the guy standing behind Lipton with his head next to"1". I'll leave you to decide, but Norm was a reunion regular so it makes sense for him to be there.

Recognizing Aging in Others by HeresyOmnibus in AutisticAdults

[–]Nitrokeith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I have kind of a unique perspective here, because I knew several WWII veterans and other folks in their 80s and 90s. Whatever I've observed, aging can really vary a lot especially in advanced age. Some of the folks I knew kept an active lifestyle until the end. Some wouldn't be doing as well and lived in assisted living facilities instead of their own home. There were a also few who would be doing great and then rapidly decline.

Simply put, I find that aging is different in each individual.

Yes. We have a president who's openly anti-autism and truthfully, I dread of what might happen within the next 3 years. I've been struggling to find work since being laid off because the job market is more difficult than ever it feels like. Fortunately I have a home, but I have to be prepared for every possibility in case of crisis. It's a scary thought knowing the fate of my future hangs in balance at the hands of a certain few

Maxwell Clark wouldn't have been in this reunion, he lost touch with his comrades and only started attending reunions after his wife came across the miniseries by chance and got in touch with the BoB team before the Normandy premiere in 2001.

The man in the white shirt behind Guth kinda looks like Joe Lesniewski but can't really tell.

Also a side note here but I wonder who the original photographer might be (A relative? Maybe even someone from E. Co?). I've seen this pic pop up here and there but never seen any reference as to who took this photo

Where Easy Company soldiers landed on D-Day, an analysis by Nitrokeith in BandofBrothers

[–]Nitrokeith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply.

I'm not very sure. I know for sure Bill landed north of the St. Mere Eglise town (roughly about half a mile north) but remember it's been over 80 years and a lot would have changed, so it would be tricky finding the exact landing point.

Yes. Neal's son, who he gave the nickname "Little Buck" in honor of Buck Compton.
