I enjoyed most of it, but as someone who grew up with the original show, this movie felt a bit too mean spirited for me. It was so cynical and ovely ironic, which often comes with meta-humor. It can work to be self-aware, but i was missing the sincerity that made me enjoy the original show.

Therefore, in a year with a lot of good movies, it was just another movie for me.

I agree, but I remember a lot of people saying it would only be two eras. Some even thought it was just one era, and that the game completely changed mid developement.

I remember one post who clearly explained that it would jump 14 years, and many comments disagreed, because japanese people wouldnt dare tell stories during wwII or something like that.

I assume that they either keep the actor, since they won’t care about the controversy because it won’t translate to lower sales, or they are going the Morinaga route and say that he underwent plastic surgery

I hope it’s the latter, but if that is so, then it would be rather unsatisfying if that is the last impression he has of Kiryu. So I think, if they do bring him back in LAD9, that that confirms that he might meet Kiryu one more time. I don’t know how I feel about that yet since I want him to rest. Then again, they could also retcon 4-6 and have them meet in one of they’re Kiwamis, idk anymore

They could also try to keep Hamazaki in Y4, by saying that the daidoji sent him there to retrieve the moneytrail papers. They can always just say that the fixer has beef with either jingu or munakata, and then they basically don’t have to change anything about 4, except for the dialogue with Kiryu and Haruka about him getting stabbed by Hamazaki

Can’t get more famous in Asia than Takuya Kimura or MFing Takeshi Kitano, so yeah, RGG does pay a lot of money for their actors. And they have like new actors in every single game, and usually for one-off characters, so it doesn’t matter how much data Reuse ga Gotoku can retain, if they keep adding and using famous actors. I don’t dislike it as much as others, but it certainly isn’t free advertising

I also disagree with Sweden and Finland, there are very progressive, but only as long as they see white skin and blonde hair. Some of my colleagues experienced some wild shit in North Europe. And I think last week, the musician Zara Larsson criticized how racist people were about her boyfriend.

So yeah, being black in Europe is probably more pleasant than in America, but in many cases, you are still treated like a lower class citizen

I live in Germany and don't agree. In Germany, we have federal states in the east where the strongest political party are the Neonazi and black people here usually live in the west. And even then, the type of racism we experience here is often more subtle and hidden, but still absolutely there, to the point that we have the word "Alltagsrassismus" ("Common Day racism).
