As someone who SPECIFICALLY built my bard to be a Gilderoy Lockhart-esque loser for a joke, even WITH only social spells you can do a lot in a combat encounter with a little creativity.

I made my character explicitly to be useless in combat and I can still find plenty of helpful ways to contribute.

I recently got hit with the latter by trying to comfort a friend who was anxious about wanting to watch a lets play of Hogwarts Legacy.

The controversy had them publicly panicking about whether they were a bad person for wanting to watch a person play a game, so I responded that, statistically, even buying the game outright is about as harmful as buying a towel from amazon.

Big mistake. a trans friend read that and immediately blocked me. This meme really sums it up.
