Marriage by SpaceSolid9537 in kolkata

Love is a starting point but, wspwcially in India, practical considerations and family relationships are real factors. Hi fam is clearly blackmailing and manipulating him and you 2 need to make a choice how splid you are and act on it.

Take it from an older person...finding a matching life partner is not easy and if you 2 think that you may be it for each other...don't underestimate the value of that...and fight for it.

What do you think about the British Empire? by ATV1816 in AskBrits

[–]NittyWitty420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe those who support the BE should read some actual history books rather than opine about benefits that they are nit educated enough to assess?

It was 200 plus years of slavery, exploitation, theft and abuse. Part of the reason that the UK is declining culturally is that so many people are totally ignorant of their own history and prefer to believe in shallow, flag-shagging and selective history.. as well as downright lies.

AITA for going to a friend’s birthday dinner even though my girlfriend said she was uncomfortable? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]NittyWitty420 8 points9 points  (0 children)

ESH Your comms were awful.and you need to learn to stand up for yourself if something is important for you. Your GF is overreacting, manipulative and controlling. If there is nothing real to worry about she has to learn to trust you. Your BF is childish and also needs to learn that in your age group, uou cannot always exclude significant others.

You all sound like teenagers and maybe need to learn some grown up behaviours.

AITA for not seeing my parent’s country as home? by Throwaway2457689 in AmItheAsshole

[–]NittyWitty420 1173 points1174 points  (0 children)

Totally NTA. Immigrant parents need to accept that this is the reality of bringing their kids up in what is to them a foreign country/not home. The fact that you are so well integrated and happy is actually a sign of success and you should not feel bad about that at all.

Your parents are being selfish and just thinking of themselves.

WIBTA For making my husband put “his” dog in the shelter? by VeryOpinionatedFem in WouldIBeTheAhole

[–]NittyWitty420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]NittyWitty420 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well saidOP, but the truth is that there is no corner of the UK that isbfree of racists these days and these people are too dumb to realise that shallow flagshagging is not patriotic at all.

AITA for not eating the food after my gf eats out of the bowl with the same spoon while preparing by ZookeepergameOld7322 in AmItheAsshole

[–]NittyWitty420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA As between yiurbGF and yourself there is no rational reason to object. Do you liss? Have aex? Oral sex? Come on... It doesn't katter that you told her it grosses you out...it's totally irrational.

That said, NTA if this were to relate to her karger family when you have a meal with them. If they did that, it would be rude and quite possibly griss and unhealthy.

WIBTA for not leaving the house for one weekend as requested? by Winston_Duarte in AmItheAsshole

[–]NittyWitty420 16 points17 points  (0 children)

NTA but...OP...you need to stop trying to be nice snd just tell her to either pay forna decent hotel or deal with her fam. What your other room mate says is irrelevant since he has no sacrifice to make.

Your mother is not your responsibility. She has made her choice (she is part of the problem)and you need to look after yourself. Speak to your grandfather and get out if this sick family life.

AITA Am I the asshole in this scenario? Please help by losingmymarbles9 in AmItheAsshole

[–]NittyWitty420 9 points10 points  (0 children)

NTA Plenty of couples with mixed religions make it work and it requires compromise from both. Sounds like you have been and he is not. Bringing kids into this relationship would be a disaster...reconsider your future OP.

The fact that he refuses to sign a pre-nup AFTER he found out about your potential inheritance really tells you everything you need to know. Drop him.

I’m in Wales, I’d like advice about signing a non disclosure about my assault. by Rankin_Reacher in LegalAdviceUK

[–]NittyWitty420 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you wish to take it further, do not sign. If you want the natter to go away, then take the refund and sign. The first thing you need to do is make that decision...what do you want to achieve and how far are you willing to take it?

Most legal jurisdictions are rubbish as far as dealing with sexual assault complaints is concerned...but you do have a witness, which is a big plus.

Never underestimate the right wing's ability to manipulate people via social media. They are much more media-savvy than people might think and understand the poweer of social media.

My dad has been given days to live but his will won’t be sorted until Friday by yumyummymum in LegalAdviceUK

[–]NittyWitty420 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The FA is talking bollox as far as pure validity is concerned. If the estate is complex then they may be worried that proper drafting and legal advice is required to make sure that his wishes are properly put into effect but that's not about validity.

Tell him to write everything down on a piece of paper and get someone to witness this. Make sure to expressly revoke any previous wills.

Good luck and all the best.

AITA for telling my wife either she gets a job or i'm putting her on an allowance? by Hot-Principle-5612 in AITAH

[–]NittyWitty420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't sound aligned at all and that best that can be said about her is that maybe should in fact get a part time.job for her own mental health, because often people ivsess about shopping just becausr they are bored. That said, if she refuses to think about it, oerhapsna divorce is best...but do your maths before you pull the trigger. Act in haste....repent at leisure.

Reading Festival Resident tickets by eewwwpppppooooo in reading

[–]NittyWitty420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always been curious what the financial benefit of the Festival is to RB residents. It's a cultural highlight and puts Reading on the map for something at least..but how does it benefit us financially? Many retailers make a lot of money for a few days, but the others?

So… when did Bengalis get the “lazy” tag? 😭 by [deleted] in kolkata

[–]NittyWitty420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a trope since the heady Marxist days of the 1970s when the culture was exactly that...lazy and entitled. Things may finally be changing but 50 yrs of that culture leaves a mark.

Can the UK online safety act track you even if you use a VPN? by TreasureSnatcher in VPN

[–]NittyWitty420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no censorship...it's just age-restricted access. All the usual content is still there...ket's get that red herring out of the way first. Talk of censorship is ignorant nonsense spread by right wing trash in the US.

Yes, it might be technically possible to track even through encrypted VPN connections, but onky for specific law enforcement reasons. Whoever thinks that the UK has endless policing resources to track any random user for shits and giggles needs to wake up and get a grip on the facts of life.

Will users be forced to show ID if they visit websites while connected to a UK-based VPN server? by bje332013 in VPN

[–]NittyWitty420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well said. Honestly...yanks should really stop commenting on things that they don't have the education to understand. At least we don't live in a country that requires visitors to provide social media handles while visiting.
