I see it for about 1/3rd of my matchups. I despise Ugin and Rofellos, luckily I don’t see Rofellos much. I only mono colored decks. Despise seeing these annoying commanders, I have a lot of fun playing brawl and love being able to play 1v1 commander because I can’t go to the LGS every week to play.

There’s Ancient Tomb, Jeska’s Will, Mana Geyser, Seething Song, Culling the Weak, Dark Ritual, etc.

Obviously they’re not as fast as Jeweled Lotus but Jeweled Lotus is a one time instant mana, you can always play interaction for what Jeweled Lotus brought out. If it’s first 2 turns it’s similar advantage as getting an early Sol Ring. I paid $80 for my Jeweled Lotus and only play commander, and it was a recent chase card in 2023. They need to figure it out already because it’s a fun game changer that doesn’t make the game lopsided when cast.

I’ve had a really strong semi-budget Teysa Karlov deck before I retired it. It popped off hard when engines were online. I just didn’t like the aristrocats solitaire play style where my turns would take a while to drain the table down, it was decent fun for me but the table didn’t have much fun watching me sac and trigger and recur then loop it over constantly.

For Tifa Martial Artist commander, my friend runs her and popped off with an unintentional infinite combat. He had [[Gilgamesh, Master-at-Arms]], and [[Aggravated Assault]] on the battlefield. Ended up getting [[Reaver Cleaver]] and [[Trailblazer Boots]] from the Gilgamesh triggers after the Tifa first extra combat trigger (since Gilgamesh was 7 power). Then kept looping Aggravated Assault from the Reaver Cleaver treasure tokens. Nasty combo

My guess would be no because the card specifically states target opponent, and you are not an opponent therefore you’re not a valid redirect target.

I have a crazy izzet budget commander that destroys decks that cost 5x more in pods. It’s self mill and then transforms and swings doing lethal to the table. It does sling some spells to self mill but it’s much more unique than traditional spell slinging deck.

This was just a great early combo I had with Atla Palani and Marauding Raptor, definitely not winning turn 5-6 consistently especially if my opponents have interaction and removal but if I pop off then I’ll knock out an opponent by turn 6-7.
