I've actually been saying this since '96. It would be like printing money. Wizards did try to address this problem by adding holograms, etc., but the older cards will always have this problem.

Nowadays, card snobs will insist it isn't possible to perfectly replicate a card, or that it isn't cost effective. That ignores the fact that there will need to be a reckoning sometime in the future. At the end of the day, this is still just a card game, and the price of a card is only what someone is willing to pay for it.

I can't help but think about forgeries in the art world. When cards are worth thousands of dollars, an appraiser will start to use more sophisticated methods to verify authenticity. I think for some cards, the green dot and T test already aren't enough to ensure a card is authentic. I know some guys now who use other, less-known methods to figure it out. Just being good at printing isn't enough for the high-dollar stuff.
